That's fair. Do you think we could at least take the prongs off of the ship wheel to make it look slightly less anachronistic?

I can but that would look like a wagon wheel then, which isn't synonymous with steering.

I don't see people having an issue with the non-cars using the same driver seat circle icon as the cars, it just signifies the driver seat and not the kind of steering mechanism being used. The driver designation spot still has to be a circle or hex shape to prevent any confusion over who occupies the seat and airplane sticks don't fit that bill. The car steering wheel will perfectly fit 90% or more of the VDO's, a ship's wheel won't fit any of them.

Yeah, Yodaking has won me over here. Let's go all-in on car steering wheel, por favor. :-D

On the other point, maybe we need front and back hitzones? I imagine we'll eventually be doing partial cover and full cover structures too (small house?) and we'll probably want to show different sides of something like that as well.

I'd be okay with having two hitzone pics, one front/right corner and one back/left corner image.

Hmm, not sure about the Small Building. I know we talked about making the roof a DO.
Individual walls could be a DO as well, though I think if you destroy more than one the whole thing should be removed.
I was thinking about a front and rear view as well for the VDOs.

I more meant for partial cover/targeting purposes you'd want a picture of different sides so you could shoot through windows. Might not be a perfect comparison here, though. Not really viewing it as a DO.

Fwiw: I imagine target points for vehicles not to be little green dots, but to cover entire windows and so forth.

I figured that, but how do we show that in the target icon? In nearly all instances you won't be able to see the back in the target icon view. ???

Yeah, I understand that, but you don't see the front and back of figure icons either. I think we more or less have to just assume the 360 degree interpretation for things like that. Like if it's a spot on the car you can shoot from the front of, you can shoot from the back as well.

With any standard vehicle with windows, I think it'll be fairly intuitive in practice as well.

We don't do the back of figures because the rules don't require that a figure can sight through multiple spots & that it is assumed that the figure can turn on the spot. The way vehicle rules currently read don't allow for this. They are specific in where sight can be taken from therefore over-riding the official rules. As such whilst it may be fairly intuitive it will allow a lot of room for interpretation & rules lawyering.

Also, card looks awesome! :-) I'm a tad iffy on how nautical the wheel looks there. Anyway we can keep it distinctive but make it look a tad more modern?

I went with the helm wheel as it was a less likely to be used but still recognisable. My first thought was the car steering wheel but I didn't want it seeming like it was going to be changed with every type vehicle, like motorcycle handlebars for motorbikes & yoke sticks for planes. I can change to a car steering wheel but I was trying to avoid stereotyping the DVDOs as all cars.

I honestly agree with this take.

Agreed with these posts.

OK, so seems like we're waiting on @japes to address A3n's edits, A3n to post more edits (Art Dept. guys have better eyes for this stuff than I do!), and A3n to finish the card template, keeping in mind what Ronin posted above. :-)
