A tale of teamwork and betrayal

The mole ogre howled out as it collapsed into a bloody pile of rent flesh and broken bone. The aging knight bent over, panting heavily, and gave his dwarven peer an approving nod. It had taken great effort between them both to slay the beast, and they had each taken their share of wounds. But in the end their cooperation had paid off and they both knew it. And then their eyes found the treasure chest sitting in the corner of the room.

They looked at each other. They looked back at the treasure… and then the real fight began.

The game where YOU are the final boss!

Dungeon Run is an exciting dash through a dungeon packed with monsters and traps. Each player controls a unique hero capable of great feats, and whose powers and abilities are upgradable and customizable throughout the game. Players can work together to overcome the perils of the dungeon, or they can betray and sabotage each other as they see fit. Because in the final room of the dungeon lurks a powerful boss with the ultimate treasure – a treasure that turns its owner into the most powerful warrior they can become! Slay the boss, steal the treasure, and then run for your life as your friends try to cut you down. In Dungeon Run only one hero can escape with the fabled Summoning Stone. Don’t walk – run!

A new game each time you play

Dungeon Run features a randomly assembled dungeon that changes each time you play, as do the monsters you face and the treasures you find. Eight different heroes each with unique options for customization further add to a wealth of game play options. Choose the vicious Tundra Orc and bash your way through everything that stands in your path. Play as the cunning Grounder Wizard and use your magic to cheat the laws of nature. Select the Guild Dwarf adventurer and lay traps to ensnare your friends. There are many paths to victory in Dungeon Run. Win by working with your friends or against them – just win!

Hmm, I was actually thinking about going the other way-when we learn how Dungeon Run Characters/Monsters are statted I could use my masses of HS units to further populate my DR boards. 8)

Just to get a rough prediction of how angry my wife will eventually be, is this the sort of game that might some day see expansions? :D

Looks like it is very awesome I like the Dungeon Crawl Games. But what worrys me the most is the price. I would like to know the price of it. It looks like it would be around

It's great to finally see this in completion. The figures look great. I'll have to buy this with the Summoner Wars Master Set and new expansions.

That will be great! This one is HIGH up on my radar! Keep up the great work Mr. Plaid Hat.

The price is very point on! Castle Ravenloft and Wrath of Ash both cost me $45 a pop, so this is right in my price range.



Are we going to see this at Gencon? Please say yes!

Number 1 on the BGG Hotness. The figures look great. I was disappointed by the D&D dungeon crawl games (Ravenloft et al). Although I love Claustrophobia, this could fill the multiplayer dungeon gap in my collection. I never played the P&P version but I will be keeping an eye on this one. Congratulations to Mr. Bistro and everyone at Plaid Hat. (Colby, if you haven't already been swamped with game design submissions by Heroscapers' members, you will be now!)

Awesome! And DMG figures! That Gladiator Hulk he did a while back was one of the greatest tiny things I've ever seen. Can't wait to check these figures out up close.

Awesome job. Very cool. I'm certainly looking forward to this as well. I love to play Diplomacy when I can, it sounds like a lot of that player interaction with shifting alliances and backstabbing can come into play, which in my mind is just ingenious.

Or how about Origins? Since Truth will be there, maybe we can play a late night game in the hotel with him on a prototype version. I never really did any roll playing game other than Mafia/Werefolf (Curse of Ne-Gok-Sa lite) and certainly not a dungeon run game, but i'd be willing to try.

I'm excited for this as well. Probably gonna have to have a release party here for it. Plaid Hat is scoring again. Now PHG is doing a board game with miniatures. What could be next?

I really enjoy Cutthroat Caverns. This seems like a very similar style of game only better. CC is only cards and no actual exploring. I like having a map and miniatures. I think this is like Descent mixed with CC with the best of both worlds. With Colby and team being such great game designers and knowing the value of play testing I will actually be surprised if it is not as good as I expect. I think it could become a new 2nd favorite game!
