Character Bio - When Dick Grayson moved on to join the Teen Titans, Batman was left without a protégé - enter Jason Todd, a street orphan caught stealing the tires off of the Batmobile in Crime Alley. Trained to become the next Robin, what Jason lacked in skill he made up for in sheer brutality, taking a hard line on crime and risking life and limb to do so. This came to its tragic conclusion shortly after when he was captured, beaten, and ultimately killed by the Joker - Batman's greatest failure.

Re: The Book of Robin (Jason Todd) (Design Phase)

NAME = ROBIN
SECRET IDENTITY = JASON TODD

SPECIES = HUMAN
UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO
CLASS = SIDEKICK
PERSONALITY = BRASH

SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 4

LIFE = 3

MOVE = 5
RANGE = 5
ATTACK = 3
DEFENSE = 4

POINTS = 70

REBEL VIGILANTE SIDEKICK
After revealing an Order Marker on the Army Card of a Vigilante you control, you must immediately roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 6 or lower, before taking a turn with that Vigilante, you must take an immediate turn with Robin. If you roll 7 or higher, after taking a turn with that Vigilante, you may take an immediate turn with Robin. If Robin takes a turn with this special power, you may not take any additional turns with other figures you control other than that Vigilante.

RECKLESS ENGAGEMENT
If Robin is not adjacent to any friendly figures and is engaged with at least one enemy figure, add 1 die to his normal attack and subtract 1 die from his defense.

BAT-GRAPPLE 3
Instead of his normal move, Robin may move up to 3 spaces with Bat-Grapple. When moving with Bat-Grapple, Robin has the Flying special power, but may not move up or down more than 30 levels in a single grapple, and will not take any leaving engagement attacks.

Three issues to discuss!

First, miniature. TEEN TITANS or CRISIS? Both are technically Dick, but they're both cheap, both available... I think I prefer Teen Titans but I could go either way.

Second, do we want him to be ranged or not? Honestly I could see it going either way, he did use Batarangs but he's generally a more "down and dirty" sort of fighter.

Finally, do we want to go with vanilla Vigilante Sidekick or try and spice it up (add a d20 roll to see if he obeys)?

I think the Crisis mini captures his defiance more.

As for the design, I want to see some spice. This is too generic for me as it is now.

The design is fine but I probably agree that it is a bit generic feeling.

Yeah, with all reused powers here, there's nothing making him unique.

I like the power set, feels like him to me. I also don't mind something more unique. This is the Robin I know the least, so...

I like the Teen Titans figure better.

If we want to change things up, here's the sort of power I have in mind:

REBEL SIDEKICK
After revealing an Order Marker on the Army Card of a Vigilante you control, you must immediately roll the 20-side die. If you roll 6 or lower, before taking a turn with that Vigilante, you must take an immediate turn with Robin. If you roll 7 or higher, after taking a turn with that Vigilante, you may take an immediate turn with Robin. If Robin takes a turn with this special power you may not take any additional turns with other figures you control.

Rebel Sidekick is cool!

We could always have him place molten lave tiles, make adjacent figures immune to ranged attacks/powers and let him auto-wound enemies who attack his teammates. That would be pretty cool ;)

Rebel Sidekick is awesome!

Re: The Book of Robin (Jason Todd) (Design Phase)

Rebel Sidekick, Reckless Engagement, and Bat-Grapple 3 look like a winning combo. :up:

I have the Crisis Mini. It's butt ugly. Teen Titans for sure. :-)

I could go either way on the range/no range for him. Probably best to keep it, though. Reckless Engagement shows him as more of a melee fighter anyway, and that power is less interesting if engaging is pretty much your only option with him.
