POLL: Large Terrain Expansion Units

So here's a poll on your favorite unit that comes with a TERRAIN expansion pack. Your vote can depend upon the sculpt, the playability, how well it matches the set it comes with, or anything else you seem fit.

Please explain your vote, and DON'T GRUMBLE IF THIS SEEMS LIKE A BAD THREAD: JUST DON'T POST!!!

RtFF - Versitile with bridge and LOS blockers, but I'd like to have had the jungle tree rules for the edible trees.:)

I have to vote on the spiders and jungle set. After two jungle sets I felt I had enought trees and brush for 90% of my maps, but I felt I needed the extra spiders. They do tend to get picked off quite early but I love their Predator Bonding and I tend to place alot of early markers on them. In one 3-player FRA game last night we each started with a castle in a hex-shaped map, I was able to quickly infiltrate a castle with one spider and kill Johnny Shotgun. Two died on the way, but I also was bonding Sujoah each time and flew over and infiltrated the other players castle to kill Raelin. Also when Charos flew out to perch above on of my spiders two levels down from him, the spider could not be attcked as Charos was not legally adjacent thanks to the spiders height of 2. Small but deadly. I have yet to use the web with any success though.

Definitely the spiders. For pretty obvious reasons, they bond with a powerful unit,(with possible predators in the future) they have an alright special ability in Entangling Web (30% chance to randomly remove an order marker from an opponents card if three spiders are adjacent) and they are fast moving with a decent attack and defense. All for the reasonable price of 40 points.

This is a toughie: the Obsidian Guards are my favorite sculpts out of all of these, but we don't play lava maps very often, so they don't see a lot of play-time. The "dummy tough" (as my son calls him) sees the most action, as roads pop up on quite a few of our maps. So Dumutef it is.

Wouldn't it be fair to include the Marro Drudge in this poll?

That said, the spiders win just becuase they can be used on any map with equal effectiveness. They get my vote.

I'd go with the Dzu-Teh out of the list of terrain-specific units.

I love the Obsidian Guards. We play with lava field maps all the time. I just keep them in the lava, and when an unsuspecting warrior passes by, I pitch lava balls at them. It's great.

I voted for the big one.

I like both the Obsidian and Dumatef Guards. I haven't tried the spiders yet and don't have TT. Obsidian Guards are just 3 Dumatefs for 25 more points if you don't use roads or lava, plus they aren't 2 spaces.

Not sure if this is a serious qustion or not, but here's the answer: no, because they come with a master set, not an expansion pack.
