I was browsing at DA when I found this picture.

Apparently, the artist has a page

And he did two works for them

I prefer the second one (barbarian with axe>fighter with sword, and sorcerer Drow>fighter Drow), but the first one probably matches the figures included in the MS3 better.

I like the first one. It is a very nice piece of art and makes a great desktop setting

You have to wonder if the decision to hire him was made by a committee...and if some of the people here were on that committee...

To think of the amazing art that group has seen...

Steve Argyle! I know who he is. He's done a few artworks for M:tG. He's one of my favorite M:tG artists, so it's cool to see him do this.

You have to read his caption to this art...

A classic D&D get-together. Even with all the swords and stuff, for some reason, I think of this more like a cocktail party. Like the swords are just decorative martini shakers or something. And any minute now, they're going to break out Rockband or some Wii party game. They're just off screen, but much of the rest of this dungeon is furnished with bean bag chairs. (But, to keep it in canon, they're made of baby dragon leather.)

I propose a new rule: All D&D Heroscape tournaments MUST use beanbags for chairs!

Awesome, I second that motion! :D

In the final draft, they took away some of the dwarf's arm hair... :(

(Maybe I looked too closely....)

I think I know why they changed the Drow in the background. It eliminated the need to create a special ability for her.

Distract Special Ability
If *Insert Name* retreats, remove all order markers from any card whose figure is within line of sight of *Insert Name*. Characters with Disciplined personality are immune from the Distract Special Ability.

This would lead to too many questions in a kid's game.
