Re: The Book of Batman (Thomas Wayne) - Playtesting

NAME = BATMAN
SECRET IDENTITY = THOMAS WAYNE

SPECIES = HUMAN
UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO
CLASS = VIGILANTE
PERSONALITY = RUTHLESS

SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 5

LIFE = 4

MOVE = 5
RANGE = 5
ATTACK = 4
DEFENSE = 5

POINTS = 190

BAT-GRAPPLE 3
Instead of his normal move, Batman may move up to 3 spaces with Bat-Grapple. When moving with Bat-Grapple, Batman has the Flying special power, but may not move up or down more than 30 levels in a single grapple, and will not take any leaving engagement attacks.

SURGICAL PRECISION

When Batman attacks, he may attack one additional time. If Batman inflicts one or more wounds with a normal attack during his turn, roll an unblockable attack die against one of the wounded figures.

THE HOUSE ALWAYS WINS
If Batman is targeted for a normal attack from a figure within 5 clear sight spaces of him, both players must roll the 20-sided die. Add 1 to your roll for each revealed Order Marker on this card. If you roll higher, the targeting figure receives a wound, and it may target Batman one additional time, otherwise its turn immediately ends.

One thing we were discussing is that some people didn’t love that his double attack only works against non-adjacent figures. If it just always work, he’ll still like range a lot of the time, but he’ll also be down to get into some scraps.

Will Update and Move the non-adjacency requirement from the attack to the wounding part of the power after the waiting period is up. Forgot about that!

I think we did away with breathing.?

Yeah, I'd just give him the double attack all the time. He runs around with two guns, one in each hand, so he must be ambidextrous.

Correct. I believe it's just a 48 hour design phase? I could be wrong. Before my time back as a Hero. :-)

Surgical Accuracy updated with change to full time double attack and stacked wounds to non-adjacent figures.

Re: The Book of Batman (Thomas Wayne) - Design Phase

What are everyone's thoughts on the name of Surgical Accuracy? Arkham had suggested Surgical Precision. Does that catch anyone's interest more?

Also, speaking of scrapping it up, would it make sense to give him the ability to attack non-adjacent figures even though he is engaged? If so, would you add that to Phantom Walk and do a rename of the power, or include it in Surgical Accuracy?

He is only surgically accurate from a distance? If anything I would have the extra wounds only for adjacent attacks.

No, I don't see any theme reason why he should be immune to engagement rules.

Re: The Book of Batman (Thomas Wayne) - Design Phase

Why does he get the surgical bonus only for ranged? I know he uses drug tipped batarangs, but extra wounds don't really translate to sleepy drugs in my opinion. I've only read his early stuff.

Also, thoughts on making him an Antagonist? He teams up with Bane later on I know, so that might be fun to give him some soft synergy with Bane II.

What's the theme on House Always Wins? Is he a big gambler or something?

And does he not use grapples? I could have sworn he did, so swapping phantom walk for Bat grapple might be cool.

(Honest questions, but forever since I've read anything with this guy)
