Re: The Book of Darkseid (II) (Breathing)
NAME = DARKSEID
SECRET IDENTITY = UXAS SPECIES = NEW GOD UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = ANTAGONIST PERSONALITY = ABSOLUTIST SIZE/HEIGHT = LARGE 7 LIFE = 8 MOVE = 5 RANGE = 5 ATTACK = 7 DEFENSE = 7 POINTS = 520 COMMAND AND CONQUER After revealing an Order Marker on this card, instead of taking a turn with Darkseid, you may take a turn with 1 Unique Hero you control or up to 2 Parademon Squads you control. If they do not destroy a figure, you may choose for one of them to receive a wound. If they receive that wound, take a turn with Darkseid and no other additional turns. DARKSEID IS An opponent may never take control of Darkseid, and if he would be destroyed in any way except by this special power, instead he takes no damage and you must roll the 20-sided die. If you roll: • 10 or lower, Darkseid receives a wound; • 11-18, inflict a wound on a figure; or • 19-20, remove a wound from this card. OMEGA EFFECT X At the end of the round, you may reveal an "X" Order Marker on this card to roll 4 combat dice. Choose up to X figures or empty spaces within 4 spaces of Darkseid. X equals the number of skulls rolled. Inflict a wound onto a chosen figure, or place a previously removed Injustice Marker onto their card. Place a Common Parademon in your army onto a chosen space. Re: The Book of Darkseid (II) (Breathing)
It was suggested that we potentially drop the healing aspect. I'm not sure if that's from Darkseid Is, Omega Effect, or both.
On Omega Effect, I had it on there since he's revived/recreated people along with tearing them down. So the logic was that he'd wound his allies throughout the round if they were failing him, but at the end of the round he had a strategic decision to make. He could use those shields to undo some of his damage to keep his minions at work, or continue to tear down the enemy. I'm fine with dropping that aspect if desired, though that makes Command And Conquer much more risky. |
Re: The Book of Darkseid (II) (Breathing)
Surprised you're sticking with 4 move here. Wasn't slowness a complaint about Darkseid (I)?
The healing cut suggestion was from the last power (healing others) not self healing, I believe. |
Re: The Book of Darkseid (II) (Breathing)
Not married to 4. No idea really why Darkseid I has 4, other than to maybe represent his more arms behind the back methodical conqueror approach. He can move at the quickness of Superman, I believe. Open to whatever people desire.

Re: The Book of Darkseid (II) (Breathing)
I think a quicker Darkseid would be cool for contrast (5 or 6 move?).

Re: The Book of Darkseid (II) (Breathing)
Yeah, definitely the Omega Effect healing that I was talking about being a little iffy for me, not the self-healing.
I would buy Darkseid healing up minions in a sort of Power Rangers-y "sure you beat my mook, but what if I supercharge him and make you fight him again?" way, but it doesn't track quite as well for me if he's just patching wounds here and there. YMMV, though. |

Re: The Book of Darkseid (II) (Breathing)
Skulls feel thematically nice with Darkseid too. I like that change.

Re: The Book of Darkseid (II) (Breathing)
I'm not a fan of a New Darkseid doing nothing to help the Parademons. The leadership style actually feels good to them, if we could just cut the Unique Hero bit. He leads armies anyway, could we open that up to squads?
Also, Command and Conquer ought to be a power name on this guy. :) https://i.pinimg.com/originals/bd/42...abab627bc4.jpg |
Re: The Book of Darkseid (II) (Breathing)
Opening up Command and Conquer to Unique Heroes and Parademons would be cool.
