Character Bio (From truth): Mika brings a new ability to Heroscape. At the beginning of the game you can place up to 2 shadow tiles on her card. Throughout the game, you can place any of those tiles onto any space that she’s on (as long as it can be placed normally - i.e. you can’t double-stack water/shadow sized tiles, and you can’t place on a space with a wall or battlement attached to it for obvious reasons). Not only that, but she has a teleport-like ability and an ambush when she starts unnoticed in the shadows.


-Rulings and Clarifications-
Blend Into Shadows:
Shadow tiles may be placed on any empty land space. She may not place a shadow tile on a Water, Swamp Water, Ice, Molten Lava or Shadow tile. She may also not place a shadow tile over a Glyph as the space is not empty.

Synergy Benefits Received:

Agent Skahen may move Mika Connour using Cover Fire.
Synergy Benefits Offered:

Having a Tricky Personality Mika Connour may aide Otonashi with her Tricky Speed 4

Mika Connour may aide any Small, Medium, or Large figure by giving them a defensive boost with her Blend Into Shadows power.

You put the wrong pack name up, she's from the Heroes of Khorvaire pack, not the Veterans of the Last War pack. Other then that nice job.

Yes, as well as negate other terain effects such as snow, dungeon (no direct effects but you get the idea), etc. However, note that she cannot make a shadow bridge across water or molten lava, as 0 height tiles cannot be stacked.

This girl can get meeeeeeeean, her and Othkurik can end up bestest buddies on a map with no shadows, and on a map WITH shadows no heroes or squads are safe from them. I find using her shadow dance can be worth taking a leaving engagement attack to get unengaged and into difficult territory. Her and Othkurik make an amazing theme army with the Drow, and a partially viable army on a map with enough shadows

:shock: Flexibility is her great asset. She has creative possibilities far beyond the obvious use of her powers. I played her in a "football" game where you had to return Brandar type glyph's (no traps or effects) to your start zone. Using Mika "backwards," you can drop a shadow hex right in your start zone and the next one 8 hexes away, thus leaving her a teleporting trail back. Once she gets a glyph, you've laid a quick return trip for her.

She can also drop one just for the combat bonus, so its good not to use them both up right away in a regular game. Combining Shadow strategies with her fast movement increases the surprises she can pull yet again.

These are examples of more unusual ways to use her abilities. She joins the ranks of Powerful Ladies of Heroscape that stretch from Raelin to Sharwin!

I'm surprised mika hasn't generated more discussion. As others have pointed out she has amazing utility and flexibility.


A brief list of some of the many uses of her powers:
  • Disrupting road bonuses
  • placing a shadow tile for a ranged pod you're setting up
  • the ability to set up her own teleport locations
  • ability to throw 7+ dice in one attack, further enhanced by her teleportation, being able to pop up most anywhere on the map
  • Boosting figures that get bonuses from shadow tiles (Othkurik, drow, darrak etc.)

I played her in a game and used her to take out a Feral Troll, the Iron Golem, and help with an Ogre.

I found that it was usually worth the extra 3 dice to give up an attack and chance a disengagement, run away, then jump back in and lay down the hurt. She was a true skirmisher in my game and worked wonders.

EDIT: Ms Connour for the win!! I played a game tonight where she one-hit KO'd my opponent's Kurrock who foolishly was parked next to an unoccupied shadow that Mika teleported to. 5 skulls of 7 dice and a whiff+height for Kurrock spelled the end.
