Freddy Fender has died
I know he's no Johnny Cash, but I'll miss him. I grew up listening to him.
So now, to have just a moment of sorrow at his passing, I feel it appropriate to play his most famous song, one more time: Quote:

I have to recall this:
As a young punk, I spent quite a few Saturdays at my Aunt Mae's. (Yes, I said it, Aunt Mae.) Well, Aunt M loved to spoil the crap out of me. All the COOLEST old school G.I.Joe crap. Eagle-Eye Joe Camping-set. The A.T.V. I had this kick-arse, compound set up @ M's. I Loved going there every weekend. Here's where Freddy comes in; She was always listening too F.F., J.Cash, or Elvis. Sometimes, R. Orbinson. or Don Willams. I knew I was goning to hear great tunes, I knew I was going to play with cool toys... Good, Freaking times... |
I've never really listened to him. I mean I've heard his name, but I've never really heard his music. I really like the lyrics you put up. I may have to check him out.

To be honest, FF has a very nasal, honkey tonk voice. You may not like him. He's great memories for me having grown up listening to him. I'm not trying to discourage you, but you should listen to him in the proper context.
