At the start of the game, place this Psychic Projection on any empty space in the Astral Plane instead of in your Start Zone, then choose a Unique Telepath Hero you control without a Tether Marker on its card and place this Psychic Projection’s blue Tether Marker on the chosen Hero’s card. While its Tether Marker is on that card, the chosen Hero is this Psychic Projection’s Tether.

When rolling for initiative, you may add 2 to your roll if neither this Psychic Projection nor its Tether is engaged.

LINKED CONSCIOUSNESS
Instead of taking a turn with its Tether, you may take a turn with this Psychic Projection. For the rest of the round, it may use any special powers on its Tether's Army Card and its Tether cannot move, attack, or use any special powers. If this Psychic Projection is destroyed, its Tether receives three wounds.

This one might take a bit to get ramped up, but I figured I'd get it ready. It's currently being designed to go with the Astral Plane, which based on going with japes' idea, is going to require some Art Dept work.

I know @LordVenoc and I want to make sure the Astral Plane and Phantom Zone are handled consistently, so I'm hoping for lots of input from him on direction here.

Cool to see this under way!

I could see one of the later clauses coming out of Psychic Tether and going into a separate power, since there are a few things going on there, but still dig the general direction.

I'll trust you wording gurus for advice on that sort of thing if you have anything specific in mind. :-D

It is a pretty busy first power, though everything fits under the thematic heading, but we certainly have room to split things (like the on your turn type of stuff) out into a third power as needed.

Interesting. Not sure if it's plausible, but if the attack dice get hot vs. a low defense figure on the Astral Plane, you could maybe knock off all the OM's for around before they can go.

If your opponent doesn’t have a Projection of their own, I imagine Cable, Xavier, and Stanchek will really like it. Emma Frost might actually find it useful as well.

And we're in the Design Phase! Not hearing a lot of pushing for changes, so I'll think about checklists and the initial later today. What sorts of things are folks thinking we want to see in playtesting? I definitely think I want to do tests with Projections on both sides as well as with Projections on only one side.

There are some glass cannon telepath's that are going to love this just for the death save aspect. Early on this will probably be used primarily as that, rather than the intended Astral Plane fights, but that's the nature of a new mechanic coming out.

If I had to guess, I'd say Professor X, Mister Sinister, Peter Stanchek, and probably Gorilla Grodd I are all gonna enjoy this the most from that standpoint.

OK, I think this addresses the win condition issues brought up in the Astral Plane thread and would allow us to treat the Astral Plane as an extension of the battlefield the way Levy does with his pocket dimension (precedent is good for helping avoid corner cases).

I also broke up the powers a tad for clarity. Let me know what you all think!
