The Book of Duploids

Character Bio - While Ronnie and Stein gained the power to fuse together into Firestorm, Danton Black AKA Multiplex gained the power to fission apart into multiple copies of himself, which he called his duploids. The number that he can create is limited by the amount of energy he has, but he can absorb energy to create more. The duploids, which share his thoughts and identity, are sometimes carbon copies of himself but he can also create smaller duploids. Early in his career, he was forced to find an energy source to boost his powers. Later, he discovered his own energy source so he could, in theory, create unlimited duploids. Each duploid possesses a degree of superhuman strength and all are mentally linked to the original.

Incoming Synergy:

• As a Danton Black squad, Duploids have synergy with Multiplex.
• As a Metahuman squad, Duploids have these Metahuman Synergies.
• As Criminals, Duploids have these Criminal Synergies.

Outgoing Synergy:

• Duploids may take a turn before a Criminal you control if that Criminal does not attack, with their Criminal Swarm special power.

Immunities, Benefits, and Weaknesses:

• As Criminals, Duploids interact differently with certain special powers.

CRIMINAL SWARM
Once per player turn, before moving normally with a Criminal Hero you control, you may take a turn with the Duploids. If you do, that Criminal cannot attack.

SELF-DUPLICATION
When defending with a Duploid, if you roll at least one blank, it takes no damage and you may immediately place a previously destroyed Danton Black squad figure on an unoccupied space adjacent to any Danton Black figure you control.

Seems pretty simple. :up:

I feel like they should have the same secret identity as the main Multiplex. There's room on the card to give the whole "you can draft this with one other figure with the same secret identity".

No because I'm an idiot lately. And here I thought everyone was ignoring me.

I personally started ignoring the tags for new threads since I just browse through the design forum and read the titles looking for new stuff and Votes.

I thought about that and wondered if it would complicate the Hero card.

But it does sell the idea of using the squad only if you don't want the full blown experience.

Unique Squad should make them fairly easy to test. Zatanna (II) only helps unique heroes with blanks, so I guess the best bet with them is just to try to boost their overall defense to try to get those blanks.

Who bonds with Criminal Squads. They'd make decent screens.

Kingpin (I) can take turns with them, Kingpin (II) and Two-Face (II) (conditionally) can boost their defenses, Penguin (II) can move them, Hun can benefit from them, Black Mask (I) (at a cost), Riddler (I) (conditional), and Hush can boost their attacks.

Wizard and Ventriloquist can boost their movement, but hard to take either of them over Penguin (II) in that role.
