TM4's Custom Terrain/Obstacles

These are just a few things I've made. Ironicly, I've never actually played with them. I'm posting just a few because it takes FOREVER to upload a photo.
First off, my ruined building!

Trust me, I have a lot more, It's just going to take a while to get everything up.

Hello? Comments would be nice. I worked hard on this!

Re: TM4's Custom Terrain/Obstacles

1) You did not ask for any comments the first time, so do not be surprised that no one has left any.
2) The building looks quite usable, but you have not given us much information about it. It is obviously made mostly from styrofoam, but I cannot tell the exact scale. Post some picks of the building on a Heroscape map, with some figures.
3) Welcome to Heroscapers. :)

Re: TM4's Custom Terrain/Obstacles

Oh, I thought comments would just be a given, being a forum. Sorry.
I'll get more pictures up later, but these are the basic rules of placement, ect.

Placement: The whole building is based on the door. The door is placed over a hex with the walls on ajacent spaces (i.e. not through corners). Ruins, trees, castle pieces, ect. May be placed in the ruins if it fits and does not block the ladder space. The walls take up 9 spaces or so.

The spaces on the ruins are 8 tiles high.(actually 7.5.). I do not know how high the building itself is because all actions could be done through the spaces or windows, so it does not seem relevent.

Edit: Pic with figure

And thanks for posting, Will T! I'll get some more things up soon.

Unfortunatly you will probably have to get used to not getting responses, I do not say this to be rude in any way, but we have such a high number of posters here, that things will drop to page 2 before too long.

You're work is nice, I'm am interested in what you made the ladder out of, but you must also realize that you are in a thread that includes people whose work is simply amazing. I'm not saying you didn't work hard, I'm not much in the landscaping department at all.

I just want you to know it may take some time before people come and post in your thread, and if you badger them it will make them not want to, even if you are an amazing artist. So practice a little patience, show pictures of your work on the battlefield, and soon people will respond. ;)

Oh, but the overall height of the buildings walls is relevant! What if I have Monks? I will need to know if my monks can jump over the walls. ;)
Thanks for posting the pic with the fig.

TM4, that looks great. It's almost patterned to the ROTV ruined only more functional. Good job I say.

Will T: The Monks could just jump through the windows.

MinitureGeek: I had waited several days for a responce, and I saw people had been viewing it, and I was confused why no one had posted. I mean, how do you feel when you're ignored when the person knows you're there. It's annoying and bothersome. If people don't like it, I'm fine with it, as long as they post constructive critism and not "that's horrid" or other things of the like.

Aslo, the ladder is made of toothpics (one end is flat, the other is stuck into the ruins) painted the same color as the building and hot-glue-gunned together.

Ugly-Cacto: Thanks. I was going for a HS-ish look.:D

I will get more pictures up soon! I will try to get pictures on a board, but I must first get up what I already have.

Rules for ladder movement: Each rung is a space, like usual, but if movement ends on the ladder, use wound marker to mark where the figure is and put it off the bord until it is destroyed or moves onto a normal space. For LOS, place the figure on the rung to see if the figure can be sighted. The figure higth is still considred the space. All other ladder rules the same.

Another ruin I did after the first one. Think blown-up bunker.

You need to do something to disguise the beads of your styrofoam. Honestly these look like painted styrofoam.

Use paper mache, spackle or something to cover the styrofoam before painting.

just my 2¢

Re: TM4's Custom Terrain/Obstacles

I kinda like the look of the beads, it makes it look textured and like it crumbled apart, but that's me.

You could either take what I said and get used to it, or you could do what you did and get upset. I've been on this site and two sites before it, maybe, just maybe I know how things work here. A lot of times people come to look, but don't post, we have hundreds of lurkers on this site. Sometimes they say something most times they don't. Some people can have a thread that every 2nd or 3rd view is a post, others have threads that every 20th viewer is a poster.

Your work is okay, it's not phenominal, I've seen better and I've seen worse, but in the end, it's only a styrofoam wall.
