Its model number and name are #041 / Molly Hayes. Character Bio - A young but incredibly strong mutant, Molly Hayes is the daughter of two mutant telepaths, Gene and Alice Hayes. However, they’re not the unassuming doctors they appear to be – they’re members of the supervillainous Pride! In the dead of night Molly and five other children witness their parents sacrificing a girl to the occult, and take to the streets as the Runaways. The youngest of the group, Molly takes to the idea of superhero life, but quickly learns that it’s not all fun and games as she’s forced to deal with her developing powers, squabbles with teammates, the realization that her parents aren’t all they seem, death, destruction, and more. But despite all the challenges and homesickness, Molly is glad to be a part of her new family – dysfunctional as it can be. _________________________________________________________________ -Rulings and Clarifications-

Re: Molly Hayes - Design Phase
NAME = MOLLY HAYES
SPECIES = MUTANT UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = RUNAWAY PERSONALITY = ENTHUSIASTIC SIZE/HEIGHT = SMALL 4 LIFE = 5 MOVE = 5 RANGE = 1 ATTACK = 7 DEFENSE = 7 POINTS = 180 POWER FATIGUE After moving and before attacking with Molly, if there is at least one purple Fatigue Marker on this card, roll the 20-sided die. Subtract 1 from your roll for each Fatigue Marker on this card. If you roll 1-6, remove all Fatigue Markers from this card, Molly's turn immediately ends, and you may not take a turn with Molly or use her Invulnerable or Super Strength special powers for the remainder of the round. A maximum of 6 Fatigue Markers can be placed on this card. After taking a turn with Molly, place one Fatigue Marker on this card. INVULNERABLE Whenever Molly would be destroyed or receives enough wounds to be destroyed in any way except by this special power, she instead receives one wound. SUPER STRENGTH |
Re: Molly Hayes - Design Phase
I'd take her with Echo!

Re: Molly Hayes - Design Phase
Underpowered?? Did you see her stats? :-P
That said, I still dislike the defensive power here. She's not a Kryptonian and her special power shouldn't make her feel like one. I'd like to see a different mechanic here for sure. And no auto-shield or D20 stuff either, please. Let's try to come up with something that's out of the box. |
Re: Molly Hayes - Design Phase
How about this?
INVULNERABLE When Molly Hayes rolls defense dice against an attacking figure, three shields will block all damage. |
Re: Molly Hayes - Design Phase
I like it. And the numbers can be tweaked in playtesting if necessary. :-)

Re: Molly Hayes - Design Phase
Dangerous she would be to have as the last figure in your army.
The wording for the die roll needs to be changed, because if you are subtracting from your roll, you could end up with <1. "If you roll less than 6, you may not take . . . " But she wouldn't subtract from her roll if she were activated by Prof X. |

Do we want it to work with special attacks or not? Quote:
As for Professor X - eh, no way to work around it. Doesn't bother me too much. |

Here are some different ideas for Invulnerable: When rolling defense dice, if you roll at least 1 skull, 1 shield and 1 blank, Molly Hayes receives no wounds from the attack. When rolling defense dice, if you roll as many shields as you roll blanks, Molly Hayes receives no wounds from the attack. When rolling defense dice, if you roll more shields and blanks than skulls, Molly Hayes receives no wounds from the attack. When rolling defense dice, you may roll 1 additional die for each skull rolled by that attacking figure. When rolling defense dice, you may add 1 automatic shield for each blank rolled by that attacking figure. When rolling defense dice, you may reroll each skull rolled. You may only reroll once per attack. When rolling defense dice, you may reroll a number of dice equal to the number of skulls rolled by the attacking figure. You may only reroll dice once per attack. |

I was worried about this with the way you have her bonding with 2 Armies (Mutants and Power Pack) she would be too good if she could bypass he weakness so easily. But thinking it out, I think this would be the ruling. Am I correct in my thinking? |
Re: Molly Hayes - Design Phase
Oh, yeah, a turn is a turn. I intend for it to trigger even if a turn is taken via bonding, and for it to cancel out all turns, even turns taken via bonding. Just no roll subtraction.
The only real problem with that is it would be hard to keep track of. |
