@Confred

I haven't had a chance to see the cartoon yet and get a good feel for Ookla. When Ookla is around water does he go into a frenzy where he will attack both friends and allies?

From a strictly game play point of view it seems that Ookla's fear of water should be a predominantly negative trait. You get a low roll and now Ookla is attacking everyone around him, including your own untis.

As for Ookla's power level, our Thundarr is 6/4/3, I think we could probably keep the same basic stats and just bump Ookla's defense a couple of dice.

After watching five or so episodes, the water fear hasn't come into play tbh. I'm going by wiki reports. The show isn't fun watching and the process is going by slow.
I figured Thundarr would be 5/5/5. I guess I should add our own customs to my research sources list lol

So my question is, "Does Ookla ride an equort because he wants to, or because he has to (size)?"

Is he Medium or Large?

So I came across these figures while I was doing some googling.

The guy doesn't have an official store but his website says you can contact him directly and work out a deal. His "Not Ookla" stands about 33mm.

Would that have him at Large or still Medium?

PS: My hand is broke, but let's keep this design alive and moving!

That would make him medium. His size is probably about average for size 5 figures, which isn't ideal, but the figure seems to be spot on other wise.

PS: Sorry about your hand. Get well soon

Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread

Eh I still think it would be cool if he was Large.

I like the idea of Thundarr and company being a pod; it fits the motif of them travelling the world of adventure.

Let's keep this going, else we may need to shelf it:

IMPROVISED ARTILLERY
After moving and before attacking, choose any Destructible Object or enemy Squad figure adjacent to Ookla, the Mok. Destroy the chosen object or figure. If you do, +3 Range until end of turn.

WATER FEAR FIGHTING
Ookla may not enter water with a normal move. When adjacent to water, Ookla's normal attacks affect all adjacent figures.

Mok
Unique Hero
Gladiator
Loyal
Large 6

6 LIFE
5 MOVE
1 RANGE
6 ATTACK
3 DEFENSE
120 POINTS

That's fine by me, Heroscape has always been a little inconsistent with sizes anyway, calling a medium a large isn't that big a deal imo. Especially since our figure choices are limited.

I like the idea of this power, but I'm not sure how balanced instantly destroying a squad figure and/or a destructible object would be. Maybe He should sacrifice a normal turn in order to do it. Also I'm not crazy about the name, but I don't have anything better to suggest

I don't like the idea of Ookla never being able to move into water with a normal move. Water is too common a terrain piece that it might render him fairly useless on a lot of maps.

I'm still a fan of having to roll the die to enter water.

Fear of Water
Before Ookla enters a water space you must roll the 20 sided die. If you roll a 7(?) or less, Ookla must stop moving and attack all figures adjacent to him if possible. Roll each attack separately. While Ookla is on or adjacent to a water space, add 1 to his attack and subtract 1 from his defense.

I thought adding attack and subtracting defense would be a decent way of depicting Ookla going into a rage near water.

All the other stats look to me.

Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread

Chomp is auto kill vs squad, roll vs hero.

I'm fine adding chance rolls to either. The first is inspired from source as his signature attack is breaking terrain or outright using minions as improvised weapons, either throwing or clubbing. He never fails to acquire, thus no roll. He doesn't even carry weapons because he knows he'll find something to use.

Outright movement prevention was to simplify.
Roll. If fail, doesn't move and whirlwind. If pass, moves.
