Hidicul's terrain (new bridges)

Alright, I'm re-kicking off my terrian thread. This will be a big post with three pieces. The main reason for this is because I couldn't find the dang camera till today. That being the case I was able to finish these three during my camera hunt.

Utgar's Black Bridge

Bamboo Bridge

Stone Bridge

This was on e of my first customs. I had also wanted a desert theme. I am probably going to redo these and paint the brown.

Sand. Like the stuff you find at the beach.

Re: Hidicul's terrain

My suggestion for good looking desert tiles:

1. Glue some sand onto the tiles.
2. Mix brown paint with (wood) glue and some water. Then paint the tiles brown (the glue will fix the sand).
3. Mix some brown and beige (or ocher) paint to get two lighter colours (do you call it colours or shades?). Then drybrush the desert tiles.

Thatīs it.
Normally desert isn't brown. That's why I would use brown just for the base coat and then light it up with some drybrushing.
Drybrushing is quite easy, doesnīt take much time and adds quite alot to the tiles.
I hope that helps a bit.

You could also just go to a craft store the have bagged sand for kids' projects, or you can go to HD,Lowes, or any other large hardware store, because they usually have sand for playground or sandbox applications.

Thanks, it'll look better when I find a way to cut it without it spliting down the middle;)

Nice!! I really like the bamboo bridge, and the Black Bridge is pretty cool as well. I can envision orcs swarming across those as I type! Great job!
