I won the Gencon AotP tourney this year, here's the army that I played.

Here's the opening - Turn one, summon ONLY Restless Zombies. Summon 1 next to Ob Nixilous & the other two 5 spaces towards the opponents starting zone. Next, use Ob's "At Any Price" ability to destroy the zombie summoned next to Ob & draw a card. Then, move Ob next to the other two zombies you summoned.

Turn two, activate Ob & use "At Any Price" to destroy another zombie & draw another card. Then, if possible, cast "Painful Truths" on the other zombie to kill him & draw two cards.

With this opening you should have drawn 8 cards as the starting player, 9 as the drawing player. With this kind of card advantage, you should have no problem crushing the opposition.

How many people were in the tournament.

I was going to enter that one but ended up in another game at the same time.

Nice work! Seems like a pretty good strat. Card advantage is nearly as powerful in AoTP as it is in MTG.

I'd love to see a battle report of your tourney run if you have some time / remember the matches enough. Did you happen to face any Eldrazi Ruiner teams?

How much weight were your Scions pulling? They seem a little lacking in synergy but they're really not a bad squad for the points as-is.

The nice thing about the Scions is that if you are facing Blue cards, it is not as bad when your opponent Mind Controls the Scions compared to some of the other available squads.

I would have ran either Blue/Green or Red/White with four squads to hopefully win by attrition.
