Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
What if we lowered his range to 6. Most of the time as I recall (I need to rewatch the movies one of these days) he used a handgun more than anything else. I'm fine with lowering his defense to 3.

Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
I like where he is. I've done up the card with a movie image. I altered Human shield to read an opponent's medium figure. John would not use an ally as a shield. Also
@Confred
what is that figure you used.

Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
Food for thought. He may be too beefy, 3/2 instead of 4/3.
I plan to playtest him soon and will test at both sizes. |
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
How bout 3/3. My son, whom asked me to nominate Wick just reminded me that the vest of his suit is lined with a bullet proof material

If you want to be ambitious, also test at 3/2 and 3/3 This phase will end on June 12. |
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
For Tabletop Simulator users, John Wick versions are up for play testing. I'm headed to the beach so I'll be quiet for a bit.

Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
Due to inactivity, this design is set to expire on Friday, July 3.
Discussion will delay this counter. @Dysole you are next in line. @SirGalahad you are second. @Tornado you are third. |
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
Sorry life's been busy. I want to get him done but I haven't actually had time to play test.

First. The unmodified text: MASTER ASSASSIN John Wick may attack before moving. After John Wick attacks, he may attack two additional times. If he destroys a figure, he may continue moving before attacking with any additional attacks. BOOGEYMAN John Wick can move through all medium figures. When moving through a figure, that figure can't attack John Wick with any leaving engagement attacks. If John Wick attacks the figure he moved through, he rolls 2 additional attack dice. HUMAN SHIELD Before rolling defense dice, if John Wick is adjacent to an opponent's medium figure, you may roll the 20-sided die. If you roll a 7 or higher, add the figure's Defense value to the number of defense dice John Wick rolls. All excess shields count as unblockable hits on the adjacent figure. Commentary: MASTER ASSASSIN In an earlier version, the multiple attacks happened only when he was adjacent to encourage the visceral side of John Wick. But with this version, he just stands back and snipers and kites. Also, the continuous movement seems to be only after the first attack and not also after the second attack BOOGEYMAN Is the bonus attack dice only for the first attack immediately after moving or for all attacks against any figure moved through during any move this turn? HUMAN SHIELD While I enjoy the theorycraft of baked in counter strike, in practice it was disgustingly strong. Although, I forgot there was a 20-sided element and I played with automatic... but still... |
