Character Bio - Bleez lived a better than normal life of beauty on her homeworld Havania. An allure of many suitors, she was drawn to a menace of the Sinestro Corp. This soldier slaughtered her mother and attempted to enslave Bleez. Suffering through immense torture, a red power ring found Bleez, granting her revenge and sacrificing her intelligence to Atrocitus, reckless leader of the Red Lantern Corps. Bleez regained her intelligence when Atrocitus' rage deflated, and she has stood as one of the leaders of the Corps ever since.

-Rulings and Clarifications-
  • Q: Why does Bleez come with three red Battery Markers?
    A: Since Bleez steals red Battery Markers from other Red Lanterns, Bleez comes with an extra marker allowing those figures to gain new markers with special powers such as Blood of Ysmault.

_________________________________________________________________

Incoming Synergy:Outgoing Synergy:Immunities, Benefits, and Weaknesses:
  • As a figure with a secret identity, Red Lantern interacts differently with these special powers.
  • As a Ravager, Red Lantern interacts differently with these special powers.
  • As a figure that starts the game with red Battery Markers, Red Lantern interacts differently with these special powers.
  • As a figure with the Super Strength special power, Red Lantern interacts differently with these special powers.
  • As a flying figure, Red Lantern interacts differently with these special powers.
  • Enemy Ravagers may be boosted by Red Lantern's Treacherous Rage special power.

Re: The Book of Red Lantern (Bleez) (Design Phase)

NAME = RED LANTERN
SECRET IDENTITY = BLEEZ

SPECIES = HAVANIAN
UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO
CLASS = RAVAGER
PERSONALITY = CONNIVING

SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 5

LIFE = 6

MOVE = 6
RANGE = 1
ATTACK = 4
DEFENSE = 5

POINTS = 350

BLOOD OF YSMAULT 2
Start the game with 2 red Battery Markers on this card. Add one to Red Lantern's Move and Attack numbers for each red Battery Marker on this card. Whenever Red Lantern receives one or more wounds from an attack or the Blood and Rage special power, if there are fewer than 2 red Battery Markers on this card, you may choose any red Battery Marker that is not on an Army Card and place it on this card.

TREACHEROUS RAGE
Once per round before moving Red Lantern, if there are fewer than 3 red Battery Markers on this card, you may move a red Battery Marker from an adjacent figure's Army Card onto this card. For the rest of the round, whenever Red Lantern or a Ravager within 4 clear sight spaces of her inflicts one or more wounds on a Hero with an attack or special power other than Treacherous Rage, and that Hero is not destroyed, you must roll 1 unblockable attack die against that Hero.

RAGING PLASMA
After Red Lantern rolls defense dice against an adjacent normal attack and receives one or more wounds from that attack, if you did not use Blood of Ysmault to place a red Battery Marker on this card, you may remove a red Battery Marker from this card to count all blanks rolled on defense as unblockable hits on the attacking figure.

SUPER STRENGTH
FLYING

Question on the second power. Who has to roll an unlockable die. The attacker or the attacked?

Digging the direction. Should play nicely with Rankorr once he's up and running - I may actually run something else before him so we can test em together while Rankorr's in testing.

I do have pics. I’ve also got a card ready for all the Red Lanterns if you want to save yourself some time. Totally fine if not, as I like to make the cards so I can understand if you feel the same.

Bleez's controller would roll the die each time, since the power says "you." I believe that's how it would work as per the current wording, at least.

I was having the same thoughts but the other way around, but the Hand Mystics didn't wrap as quickly as I'd anticipated and I wasn't gonna wait around. :razz:

Fine by me! I do a lot of card art these days so I won't complain about spreading it around.

Not super familiar with this character outside of her brief appearance in Rebirth Green Lanterns. What's the theme behind Treacherous Rage? From what I'm reading she steals energy from another Red Lantern and sort of "usurps" power from them? Then uses it to lead the Red Lanterns?

I'm also not sure if Seductive fits. Not something I've ever associated her with but, again, not really familiar with her in a firsthand way.

I'm not sure I asked the question correctly.

TREACHEROUS RAGE
Once per round, before moving this Red Lantern, you may move a red Battery Marker from an adjacent figure's Army Card onto this card. If you do, for the rest of the round, immediately after this Red Lantern or a Ravager within 4 clear sight spaces of this Red Lantern inflicts one or more wounds on a figure, you must roll 1 unblockable attack die against that figure. This Red Lantern can never have more than 3 red Battery Markers on her card.

My question isn't who physically rolls the die. I'm asking which figure is receiving this wound.

Does her stealing the battery marker cause the attacker to risk taking damage or is it a bonus to the Red Lanterns attacking?

This should clarify things. The defender is meant to take extra damage.

We're back, folks! I've polished off the original Red Lanterns run, very cool story (makes me want a forlorn-leader Atrocitus!). I'm still pleased with the direction here, so I will take this off hold and am now welcome to comments.

Yeah, I'm still liking the direction here. :up:

EDIT: put together a post for Ravagers here.

So far, it's 1-1 with Red Lanterns, but that may not always be the case. Don't think it's a big worry for Bleez in particular though.
