Re: M.O.D.O.K. - Design Phase
NAME = M.O.D.O.K.
SECRET IDENTITY = GEORGE TARTLETON SPECIES = CLONE UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = GENIUS PERSONALITY = CONNIVING SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 6 LIFE = 6 MOVE = 5 RANGE = 6 ATTACK = 4 DEFENSE = 6 POINTS = 360 PSIONIC FORCE FIELD X Once per round, if M.O.D.O.K. is attacked and at least one skull is rolled, you may choose to reveal an "X" Order Marker on this card. After revealing an "X" Order Marker, the opponent's turn immediately ends, and M.O.D.O.K. receives no wounds. DESIGNED ONLY FOR KILLING After moving and instead of attacking, you may choose an opponent's figure within 4 clear sight spaces of M.O.D.O.K. Roll the 20-sided die, subtracting two from the roll for each opponent's figure adjacent to the chosen figure. If you roll 8 or higher, the chosen figure receives one wound. You may continue to choose figures and roll for Designed Only For Killing until you fail to roll 8 or higher. You may not target the same figure more than once on the same turn. PSIONIC COMMAND If M.O.D.O.K. inflicts at least one wound with his normal attack on an opponent's Unique Hero that is not a Telepath, you may take temporary control of that Hero and immediately take a turn with that Hero. At the end of the turn, control of the Hero returns to the player who controlled the Hero before the Psionic Command. All Order Markers that were on the chosen Hero's card will stay on the card. Re: M.O.D.O.K. - Design Phase
Powers -
I dig Psionic Forcefield X as a version of Psychic Defense X that works only on MODOK and not allies. :-) The special attack works - pretty basic - do we want to consider moving the attack down to 5, though? An explosive attack of 6 is nuts powerful, even at that range. It might be worth seeing how powerful it makes him, though, I just wonder if, thematically, he should have a special attack that powerful. Should this guy be going toe-to-toe with Superman? If not, it should be lowered to 5. Psionic Command - look at the official Mind Exchange power to clean up the wording here and make it more official. I know at the very least it should be 11 or better. :-) Other than wording issues here, I think the theme is fun. Wound someone, roll the D20, and half the time you get to take control of them for a turn. Good stuff! You know the character better than I, so I'm curious - why Conqueror? Seems like an odd fit here. |
Re: M.O.D.O.K. - Design Phase
For someone as wildly unique as Modok, I really wanna be knocked over on the design.... Instead of the "explosion" SA, how about a power or SA that really shows of his awesome ability and drive to KILL everything in sight?

Re: M.O.D.O.K. - Design Phase
That sounds Helm of Mitonsulish ... are you actually advocating a D20 auto-destroy power?

Hmm ... that would be interesting - definitely would put his cost up high, though. Super Strong figures, or just those without Super Strength?

Re: M.O.D.O.K. - Design Phase
A wound only D20 power I like. :-) Not too many different options, though - keep it simple!
