Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
Do we want to keep it opponent's Wizards or open it to any Wizard so she could feasibly pod with Wizards such as Elves?
|
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
Regarding Points. I don't think we need to make her 60 so the pod is 300 even because they should each have Mounts no? Mounts + 3 heroes = 500 (400)?
|
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
I am leaning more towards 'opponent's Wizards'.
Would love to see the horses/mounts. They would have to negate falling damage. :) |

Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
For a mini are we going to use the one from the set we used for Ookla or we going to use something else?
|
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
Not sure why the Attack boost is for 7 spaces if her range is only 5.
|
Checkin
Does someone have a mockup of the current version? I've had 500 things on my hands and just now got around to this.

Design set to expire on Sept. 17
Next designer is @Sir Yeshua Next after that is @Zetsubo Left to do: Define enhancement Range Define Points Playtest |
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
I am cool with 5 for Range and power range.
Where does that put us with the current version? Not sure on points. |
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
Anyone else?

Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
I think I like the left block, the right block and the powers. This is a fitting character for what I remember and plays pretty well. Is 60 the price point we want her at?
|
Power Update
Should be:
"When an opponent's figure within 5 clear sight spaces..." I think she's worth 75 just theoryscaping it. 5/5/5/4 with 5 life in her best matchup is really good and that's ignoring the other two powers. In her worst matchup 5/5/3/2 with some useful cheerleading is still at least worth as much as what James Murphy brings to the table. ~Dysole, with her cents worth |
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
That sounds reasonable.

Instead of just posting the card, also post the power text to make editing easier. ENERGY BRIDGE When Ariel or a friendly figure within 5 clear sight spaces of Ariel moves ... Remove 2nd "and" in line 4 MAGE POWER "of an opponent's Mage..." Remove "figure" Remove "both" "values" ENERGY RINGS "When an opponent's figure within 5 clear sight spaces..." Remove comma after "spaces" , add "of Ariel" |
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
Looking better.
Maybe drop her Life to 4 if we want her at 60? I could see dropping her Attack to 2 as well. She is not usually super offensive. |
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
Life 5 still I think
Attack 2 sounds good. Points 70? |
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
ENERGY BRIDGE
Ariel and friendly figures may ignore all effects of terrain within 5 spaces of Ariel. Affected figures do not roll for falling damage. WIZARD POWER If Ariel is within 5 clear sight spaces of an opponent's Wizard figure, add 2 to her Attack and Defense values. ENERGY RINGS If an opponent's figure within 5 clear sight spaces attacks Ariel or a friendly Barbarian or Gladiator within 5 clear sight spaces of Ariel, you may reveal and remove an X order marker that is on this card to immediately end the turn. Life 5 Attack 2 Points 70 Wizard Power is a placeholder name. Opinions on class range? Just wizard? or add Mage, Archmage also? What about Warlock, Witch, Warwitch, Sorcerer, Sorceress, Shaman, where should it end? |
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
I think just Wizard to keep it simple.
Maybe Wizard Rivalry? Wizard Rival |
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
Don't forget Battlemage ;)
I think we should say Wizards and leave it at that. Unless we want to write up the Mages from the cartoon; then we can say Wizards and Mages. |

ENERGY RINGS (Current)
If an opponent's figure within 5 clear sight spaces attacks Ariel or a friendly Barbarian or Gladiator within 5 clear sight spaces of Ariel, you may reveal and remove an X order marker that is on this card to immediately end the turn. ENERGY RINGS (variant - immediately - moved forward) If an opponent's figure within 5 clear sight spaces attacks Ariel or a friendly Barbarian or Gladiator within 5 clear sight spaces of Ariel, you may immediately reveal and remove an X order marker that is on this card to end the turn. I used to be able to cite any power on a dime - Forgot where I got the placement for "immediately" : but when playing against Warforged Soldiers, we wondered the timing. If the immediately were moved forward, it would be pretty clear when |
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
The change looks good.
|
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
After a playtest, a single test mind you, she couldn't scratch the Warforged Resolve, but even solo her powers feel like they're saucy yet appropriate. Bridge moves over snow, value magnifies with friendlies. Rings 1x every round are powerful, even more so when friendlies added in - but they aren't everything (which is good).
Butter is real. My note before vote is placement of "immediately" in Energy Rings @SirGalahad @Tornado @Sir Yeshua @Zetsubo @Knox @Shiftrex @JC McMinis @Taeblewalker @machinekng @McHotcakes @CJtheMighty @Barry allen @Dysole |
