Expansion Content
Having read the pages provided by Quozl's initial scans, I see that several additional categories of units and one of Army Cards that will be coming if expansions as issued are mentioned in the base game rules. These are:
Common Squads Unique Heroes Common Heroes Artifact Army Card: Usable by any Planeswalker. (No color?) I expect that the squads and heroes will follow Heroscape rules. Probably they will have to be summoned initially. The Artifact Army Card can be summoned by any Planeswalker. This seems to be a category of Army Card, rather than a separate type of figure. However, there is the possibility that these are not units, but Treasure Glyphs or other things! We'll have to wait a while to see. However, for those of us that plan to combine AotP with Scape, these indications may provide some guidelines for us in doing so, before any expansions are issued in 2016! |
Re: Expansion Content
Artifacts as a treasure glyph seems more reasonable than being summoned. There could be three types of artifacts (In accordance to MtG):
1. Artifact Creatures: Creatures that can be used by any Planeswalker, regardless of color. Perhaps they could follow under one of the colorless Planeswalkers. 2. Equipment: These are the best bet for treasure glyph-like artifacts. 3. Other Artifacts: These could just give your army a certain bonus, like "All creatures have haste." |

Think of general artifacts as an army card that you could activate, but just lingers similar to how an enchantment hangs out, but not attached to anything. Say for example, Black Vise. http://gatherer.wizards.com/Handlers...2636&type=card This could read something like: http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e6...psrtlaaknf.jpg Or it could be expressed as an enchantment as well: http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e6...psklxwgsxg.jpg |
Re: Expansion Content
For a Treasure Glyph, I was thinking about the MtG card type equipment. Let's use Lightning Greaves for an example.
http://i.tcgplayer.com/11512.jpg Put it on the map, or make it start on your Planeswalker. Typical Treasure Glyph rules follow. All we need is this text: "The Hero with this Glyph increases their move value by 2. They cannot be chosen for any attack or special power on an army card that requires clear sight." And thus the template for equipment. |
Re: Expansion Content
The expansion content I'd love to see would be a re release of old tile sets, lava, road, ect. It would be sweet to see tiles back in print.

Re: Expansion Content
Does anyone think they'll make multicolored or colorless Planeswalkers?

Re: Expansion Content
MW,
Yes, some people have suggested this on other threads and both sites. |

I'm curious to see of we'll see any of the other variations of the existing planeswalkers, with different abilities. For example, I'm the TCG Jace, the Mind Sculptor is still Jace, but a different iteration with different abilities. Also, the simple fact that Raelin and Sgt. Drake got updated models and abilities indicates that Hasbro has no problem with multiple different units with the same name. |

Re: Expansion Content
I think they are going to have to expand the rules when expansions come out. It doesn't seem like there's enough instruction on several things, including deckbuilding. They may be planning on releasing new rules with every expansion, like the card game does.
We might get a pack with just figures and spell cards first, but eventually I think we will see boxed expansions with more terrain boards and hopefully hexes or nice 3D pieces. Right now the game is taking place on a desert plane, but they need to travel to more than one to live up to their name. Also, the desert is visually boring. |

Not like it matters. One look at the "ruins" and my one friend insisted we just play with regular HS terrain. But I'm not surprised that we got cardboard instead of high quality plastic terrain. Even though WotC basically just prints money with MTG right now [/opinion], they're constantly worried about the costs of things (with good reason, I must begrudgingly add). I think if AotP sells well, especially with us Scape-starved Scapers, we'll see in increase in quality, and maybe, just maybe, pre-painted squads. |
