Not in love with the paint job, but it's a great idea .
Great work Griff. |
Re: The Book of Single Hex Volcano Custom Tutorial
I really wanted to darken the gray with some black, put some yellow between the red and gray and splatter some orange all around. Then drip Yellow and Red on top for flowing lava, but I really wanted to keep it as simple as possible and also match the official design of the hexes.
Thanks for the support though. |
Re: The Book of Single Hex Volcano Custom Tutorial
Is there any way we can work the bottoms of these to get them to be flush to the hexes a bit more?

I could do a number of things to make it more "lockable", but this really does work great, and it is very easy for just about anyone. It is heavy so it doesn't move around. Essentially, it is a heavy piece of terrain that is more stable than the RotV ruins or even the Warehouse - both of those just sit there. |
Re: The Book of Single Hex Volcano Custom Tutorial
I think a locking one would be more aesthetically pleasing and would be more likely to be accepted by the masses due to it looking more "official." :-)

Re: The Book of Single Hex Volcano Custom Tutorial
Glue it to a Hex or Water tile.

Re: The Book of Single Hex Volcano Custom Tutorial
Will it rest flush on those, though?
|
Re: The Book of Single Hex Volcano Custom Tutorial
Oh yeah. This guy sit up flush on any flat surface, and is extremely stable - just look at the pics. Seriously, gluing it to a hex or water tile is just a waste of terrain IMO.

Re: The Book of Single Hex Volcano Custom Tutorial
And I'm not really advocating it - that was your comment. :-P I just think this custom might be more widely appreciated if it has an interlocking bottom as part of it.
If that's too complex for what you're going for here, though, I understand. Just trying to offer some outsider feedback. |
Re: The Book of Single Hex Volcano Custom Tutorial
I personally don't see the need, but if another member wanted to create a tutorial on how to make interlocking hexes for terrain like this, that would be cool.

Re: The Book of Single Hex Volcano Custom Tutorial
It's not about "need" - it's about putting forth the best possible product that will appeal the most to the masses. At least I was thinking that was the goal here ...
