Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread

So, it sounds like we can drop "special" from the wording. Anything else that needs an edit before I post the updated card? I de-capitalized "large" and "huge" and capitalized "Dragon" in all instances in DRAGON RIDER.

Quote:

DRAGON RIDER
At the beginning of the game, choose a Unique large or huge Dragon you control. For the remainder of the game, after moving the chosen Dragon, if it began its move adjacent to Eragon Shadeslayer, you may place Eragon on any empty space adjacent to the Dragon. When Eragon is placed by this power, he will not take any leaving engagement attacks.

ENERGY RESERVES
After rolling for initiative, you may either add 2 to Eragon Shadeslayer's Move or Range for the remainder of the round, 1 to Eragon's Defense for the remainder of the round, or remove one wound marker from this card.

BRISINGR
When Eragon Shadeslayer attacks an adjacent figure with a normal attack, all skulls rolled count for one additional hit.

Since there are three items in parallel construction, each needs to start with a verb.

Thanks, SirG. Should "spaces" and "die" be added as well?

There weren't any other comments, so here is the final (?) revision of Eragon Shadeslayer.

If there are any other edits, let me know.

Nice job, tcglkn and all who contributed!

Awesome work on the card. What do you use to make the cards? Just MSE?

Thanks! I use GIMP for any image and hit zone editing then plug it in to MSE.

Is there a reason you haven't switched to the high-res templates? I think they look great.

Never got around to it. I'll have to look into that again.

Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread

I just downloaded the hi-res templates. I'm going to have to spend some time updating my game file to the latest version to be able to use them. When I get it all worked out, I'll re-post all the cards.

In the meantime, here's my choice for the next design:

DOC SAVAGE

http://i894.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/doccover.jpg
Wikipedia article
Literature - 30's & 40's Pulp Magazines - Reprinted as paperbacks starting in the 60's
Miniature used: P.B. Pugh from the Reaper Chronoscope line
http://i894.photobucket.com/albums/a...vagefigure.jpg
Doc Savage was a scientist, physician, inventor, adventurer, and a nearly super-human crimefighter. His father trained him from birth in science, martial arts, medicine, physics, languages...everything. Doc's got brains and brawn. He's also a master of disguise and a master detective. Among his inventions is a rapid-firing supermachine pistol that can fire a wide variety of ammunition: regular bullets, high-explosives, tracers, and mercy bullets that cause the target to fall asleep instead of killing him. Doc avoided taking a life whenever possible, though he didn't necessarily prevent a villain from dying.

Doc's specialty is taking down supervillains bent on taking over the world.

There are so many aspects to Doc Savage, it would take several cards to cover them all. Here are some of the main characteristics I'd like to see represented:
Physical strength
Superior Intellect
Supermachine Pistol (though Mercy bullets may not work to well in Scape)
Master of Disguise (thinking some variation of Thorian Speed, perhaps)

The Wikipedia article does explain the character fairly well. There was a Doc Savage movie released in the 70's, but was so poorly done that I've done my best to erase it from my memory. Recently, a new Doc Savage comic book series was released and I understand the books are being released again in a pulp-magazine format.
