Re: The Book of Draftable Vehicle Rules - Final Editing
Sorry that's all I could get to for now. Have to get some sleep. Cheers |
Re: The Book of Draftable Vehicle Rules - Final Editing
I don’t think anyone has put any effort into a draftable vehicle card template yet so that’s lovably the biggest thing. All the example art was clipped from the old book so if we need to make adjustments we can as I’m sure I have those files.
I’ll let the text guys update the SP and work from there. Thanks guys. |

Thanks for the edits so far, guys! Keep them coming and I'll try to do an update some time in the next couple days.

Thanks, japes! Looking forward to seeing the template. We get to put it into practice with the draftable (only?) version of the Sports Car as well. |
Re: The Book of Draftable Vehicle Rules - Final Editing
Having 2 separate sets of rules for how vehicles work (and there are big differences here, outside of adding draftability) seems like a poor decision that will be confusing to the average player. :2cents:

Re: The Book of Draftable Vehicle Rules - Final Editing
The only difference I see other than adding in the drafting part is that you can only have figures from one team in a vehicle in the old rules and these rules allow conflict in the vehicle.

Re: The Book of Draftable Vehicle Rules - Final Editing
There's also the addition of things like the driver's seat which I think is a pretty big deal.

I made a off-hand comment in the discussion thread about the rules being like the official HS army cards with the basic game version on one side & the expert game on the other. Should we not treat these VDO's almost the same? So for every draftable VDO you make, ensure there is a basic version. Of course it's up to the end-user if they want to try to print them double-sided (we could make a PDF that has them joined & you print them out as one, fold & glue together, then cut out the HS Army Card shape). |

Edit: That's not a bad idea, A3n. Up to Art whether or not y'all want to take it on, though. Not something I'm going to ask for if it's going to make doing VDOs less appealing for Art. :-) |

Re: The Book of Draftable Vehicle Rules - Final Editing
Fwiw, this was originally meant to be a revision to the existing rules. Or possibly implemented as a second rulebook that was just "draftable DOs".
Of course at that point we were working off the old rules much more closely. I'd still be inclined to think of this as a replacement, but not hugely opinionated either way. Not sure what you guys are thinking in terms of release, but I probably wouldn't roll these out yet. I think it might be worthwhile to keep these On Deck for now and knock out a couple more vehicle designs. See if anything new comes up with the rules or we need to make little tweaks for clarity. Then do a release with the new rules and some vehicles down the line. Probably just like 3 or 4 vehicles or something, doesn't need to be a huge release. Adapt the Mole Machine, get the Batmobile going and you're pretty much there. That was always my endgame/release plan anyway. Figured I'd share since it looked like you guys were close. |
