I know I figured out most of them when I was testing, but the only one I'm recalling off the top of my head is Quentin Quire.

Was that worth using in the Batmobile?

So I am correct about attacking?
Hope so as that will alleviate some concerns with Johnny Alpha.

With the other changes I made in the Batmobile it was decent, but not groundbreaking (which was the goal).

Yeah, made that change so Judge Anderson and Professor X couldn't just tank up and be devastating.

Speaking of Professor X, Psychic Defense X still works through the Batmobile, so that can be a decent one to use defensively. Anderson having a similar power to that and the ranged attack without clear sight was too nasty a combo with a full cover VDO, which is why we had to make the attack language change.

Figures occupying Vehicles with Full Cover are never in clear sight of figures outside of that Vehicle, never have clear sight on figures outside of that Vehicle, and may never attack or be attacked by a figure outside of that Vehicle.
Use Mongul's Orbital Assault.

Cool. Thanks for the refresher! My memory is not as reliable as it once was.
I had completely forgotten about Catgirl and then saw I posted in the thread. :)

Why is the Sports Car Unique? Thematically it should be Uncommon.

Good point. Thematically, and it was also tested that way! We'll need an update on the card for it before release.

This hasn't been fixed.

Re: The Book of Vehicle Rules

Good call. Only place we have the card posted right now is the OP here, right? Just need an art update to Uncommon.

Ronin February 23rd, 2020 12:17 PM

Re: The Book of Vehicle Rules

Looking at the results, seems like the Sports Car was tested at 3L/4D, but the card has those stats reversed.

Was this an @japes card on the Sports Car?

Sports car was way before my time.

hmm OK. @A3n maybe? @tcglkn ? Someone redid it when we got through this rules LD.

Original book has A3n and 4L/6D

I didn't realize it was redone.

EDIT
Oh now I see what you are talking about. Yeah A3n I'm pretty sure did that.

Re: The Book of Vehicle Rules

I didn't do it. We also wanted it to be an Uncommon not Unique right?

Correct. Need it to be Uncommon and fix the Life/Defense.

EPB cleared. All 90 pages. Shine on, you crazy diamonds.

Gotta love the classic Nobody moment of showing up halfway through the thread with "Um actually...I think you should do it like this." Even more cringeworthy with the context of the 45 previous pages. :p

The snip is needed on page 75.

I copied the formatting of the original Vehicle Rules thread OP here, so no bio I believe. We will need to remove the Sports Car card from the OP before release, but I left it there since it's not posted anywhere else yet. :p

Re: The Book of Vehicle Rules

I'm not sure if this needs inclusion in the official rules booklet (or where to put it) or if we can simply FAQ it, but I realized at the Con that it's important to make the rule that VDOs cannot occupy VDOs.

Otherwise you potentially have a situation where a Large vehicle enters and occupies and DRIVES a Huge vehicle.

Re: The Book of Vehicle Rules

I mean, what comes to mind for me is that scene in Guardians of the Galaxy where Star-Lord hijacks one of the enemy ships while piloting that little pod thing... so maybe we should leave the door open for cars driving cars. :p

I'd tag it into this part of the ENTERING VEHICLES section:

"A figure that is not a VDO may enter a VDO by ending its movement on a space adjacent to the VDO if it meets the following criteria:"

Maybe open that up to destructible objects in general? If we ever start animating those or something?

IAmBatman July 1st, 2020 03:44 PM

Re: The Book of Vehicle Rules

I think that if we get into things like spaceships, there's room to "break" this power in their special rules and let VDOs enter them. I just don't want the Batmobile piloting the elevator car or anything. :-P

Does johnny's text update here look good to folks? It works for me.

MrNobody July 1st, 2020 03:51 PM

Re: The Book of Vehicle Rules

Yeah, I think if we get to stuff big enough to hold other vehicles (TARDIS, Serenity, Helicarrier), there’s an argument that the yoke should be on them.

IAmBatman July 1st, 2020 04:29 PM

Re: The Book of Vehicle Rules

Helicarrier is arguably just terrain and not a VDO anyway. And while a car could certainly fit INSIDE a TARDIS, are you really driving one into it?

OK, SP updated. @japes you did these, yes? There was no Art by in the OP, but I updated it.

Rules update here. SP is up to date but figure we will let people ask questions before we update the PDF in case we need to clarify anything.

The OP and the SP were. The PDF wasn't updated along with them, unless I'm missing something.

Was the PDF updated last year then? Maybe we should put "last updated" dates on our PDFs.

I dunno. I do know it was such a massive update of the rules set that the current PDF is massively misleading, though.
