Character Bio - Eddie Brock was a failure at his sports career, failure in school, and then failed as a journalist when Spider-Man shamed him by capturing the serial killer Sin Eater after Eddie had written an expose, claiming the wrong man was the killer. Obsessed with his hatred towards Spider-Man, Eddie went to church to pray for God's forgiveness and guidance. It was at this time that Spider-Man: Peter Parker, was shedding himself of the black symbiote with the sonic waves of the church bells. The Symbiote sensed Eddies hatred for Spider-Man, and bonded with him, forming the notorious Venom.
Now Venom seeks vengeance each night, upon all of those that his twisted consciousness deems to be worthy of punishment... even to the point of death.

Re: The Book of Venom - Designing

NAME = VENOM
SECRET IDENTITY = EDDIE BROCK

SPECIES = SYMBIOTE
UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO
CLASS = STALKER
PERSONALITY = RELENTLESS

SIZE/HEIGHT = MEDIUM 5

LIFE = 5

MOVE = 6
RANGE = 2
ATTACK = 6
DEFENSE = 4

POINTS = 230

SYMBIOTE SENSES 13
If Venom is attacked and at least 1 skull is rolled, roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 13 or higher, Venom takes no damage and may immediately use his Tendril Swing 3 special power.

TENDRIL SWING 3
Instead of his normal move, Venom may move up to 3 spaces with Tendril Swing. When moving with Tendril Swing, Venom has the Flying special power, but may not move up or down more than 40 levels in a single swing, and will not take any leaving engagement attacks. After using Tendril Swing 3, you may use it one additional time.

SLASHING TENDRILS
Instead of moving and attacking, you may choose an adjacent small or medium figure. Roll one unblockable attack die against the chosen figure. You may continue rolling for Slashing Tendrils until you do not roll a skull.

SUPER STRENGTH

Not bad at all :D.

Only issue I see (& it might exist on Spiderman but I didn't consider it) is that if Venom is attacked by an adjacent figure & rolls 12 or higher for SYMBIOTIC-SENSES 12 he gets to move 3 spaces with TENDRIL SWING 3 & then another 3 spaces (because the TENDRIL SWING 3 power says he can use it one additional time), and he also gets to move the attacking figure with him.

It's not broke, it just seems like a crazy set of unintended circumstances.

Spidey's is different, it takes affect on his turn if he didn't move and it's a "before attacking" thing.

"Web Slinger
If Spider-Man did not move this turn, before attacking, you may choose a non-adjacent small or medium figure withing 4 clear sight spaces........."

Love the write-up Griff :D

I don't think Snag And Slash should be able to work on an opponent's turn. That's turn interruption and while it might seem cool, it could get messy. As it is aside from 3 higher on the d20 roll for Senses, he's got 1 more life and defense, and 2 more attack than Spidey and if he uses Snag And Slash for range, he could have a ranged attack of 7 with height. It will be hard to keep him at 250 points if he's better than Spidey with just that, but would be bumped up a lot if he could drag people around on their turns.

A figure with multiple attacks could get dragged all over the place on his turn.

Could this help?

Quote:

SNAG AND SLASH
Before moving Venom normally or with his Tendril Swing special power this turn, you may choose an adjacent figure. After moving, you may either place the chosen figure adjacent to Venom or add 3 to Venom’s range number if he attacks the chosen figure this turn. Figures moved by Snag and Slash will not take any leaving engagement attacks.

I'd say that should read "on Venom's turn", not sure how we have handled that in the past.

I added the release info to the OP here.

Good stuff there. The question raised by folks here is the only main one I have.
On a small side note, though, am I the only one who never really dug Vigilante as the class on the official Venom? He doesn't really fit into what we have as Vigilantes for DC or Marvel, IMO. Also, to help further differentiate this guy from the official Venom, I wonder if something like Psychopath would help?

Yea, I never thought of Venom as a Vigilante.

Venom is a Vigilante though. He might not fit in with the DC Vigilantes, but it is the right class for him.

Carnage is going to be a Psychopath and I'd rather they keep some separations.
