Ignoring fragility, how do we like the points to power ratio? Also, I took a lot of liberty with the wording on power 1. Do we like the functional shift? |
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
This design is set to expire on Friday, June 18.
@Tornado is next to design lead @Sir Yeshua is next after that |

Looks good.

Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
Doesnt seem to crazy. The language seems direct, but I'm still learning scape legalism lol. I do appreciate the space that it saves.

Why not "one or more of the following"?

Both 'more' and 'all' imply more than two options; whereas 'both' clearly indicates there are exactly two. (See what I did there? :D ) |

Didn't know if Whirlwind Assault set the precedent
|
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
I've always been in favor of improving language whenever possible, but it is not a deal-breaker.

Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
I think Nimue needs to mentioned somewhere in the beginning part of the power text

CURSED SWORD OF POWER
When Nimue attacks an adjacent figure with a normal attack, you may choose either or both of the following: • Any or all adjacent figures are also affected by the attack. Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
"of the following" seems unneeded. Thoughts?
Looks good otherwise |

I was not able has to get it to post as a picture. Mediafire has changed their link system apparently so will have to figure it out once voting is complete and I put it in the display thread.

Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
Can we lose the blank line under the first power name?
|
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
Yes I will fix that. It sometimes happens when I export it from the card maker to a jpg

Agreed on the "not a SA". Saves us two lines. :)
Good with 120. |

Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
Do I need to make a motion to vote?
|
Query
There's a link from Confred and one from JC Mcminis. Which one is our current version of the card?
~Dysole, trying to sort this out |
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
Upvote for the current draft.
|
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
I withdraw my thumb
Should we make range 2 instead of 1 that way if she's adjacent to tree she'll always be able to hit melee? Other thought, should we allow adjacent to tree and her? That way even on treeless maps she has value |
So Lost
Not following how that applies to the cards. Which version is current?
~Dysole, perfectly fine if she's less useful on maps without a lot of trees; that makes sense |
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
Current Version
CURSED SWORD OF POWER When Nimue attacks an adjacent figure with a normal attack, you may choose either or both of the following: • Any or all adjacent figures are also affected by the attack. They each roll defense dice separately. • Add 3 attack dice to the attack. After the attack, Nimue receives a wound for each option chosen. CALL OUT TO THE HIDDEN Instead of attacking, choose any or all Evergreen Trees and Jungle Pieces within 4 spaces of Nimue. For each, choose an opponent's figure within 1 space of that object whose base is no more than 5 levels above or below that object's base. One at a time, roll the 20-sided die. On a roll of 14 or higher, inflict 2 wounds to the figure. WATER TUNNEL If Nimue ends her normal movement on a water space, you may immediately place her on an empty, same-level water space within 5 spaces. If Nimue is engaged when she starts her Water TunneI, she will not take any leaving engagement attacks. :: CALL OUT TO THE HIDDEN (2 Spaces instead of 1) Instead of attacking, choose any or all Evergreen Trees and Jungle Pieces within 4 spaces of Nimue. For each, choose an opponent's figure within 2 spaces of that object whose base is no more than 5 levels above or below that object's base. One at a time, roll the 20-sided die. On a roll of 14 or higher, inflict 2 wounds to the figure. CALL OUT TO THE HIDDEN (Also Nimue) Instead of attacking, choose Nimue and any or all Evergreen Trees and Jungle Pieces within 4 spaces of her. For each, choose an opponent's figure within 1 space of that figure or object whose base is no more than 5 levels above or below that figure's or object's base. One at a time, roll the 20-sided die. On a roll of 14 or higher, inflict 2 wounds to the figure. |
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
I feel like changing it to 2 range instead of 1 makes it really hard to play around on some maps.
|
Too Strong
Up to 2 spaces is SUPER good. I don't even follow a theme reason for Nimue to choose herself. I'm fine with her being less good on a treeless map.
~Dysole, noting this would hardly be the first figure that takes a hit when the map is not favorable |
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
I like the range 2 version without choosing her. I still worry that she has low Life; Valguard makes up for his need to disengage to get first strike on a different figure by having 7 Life and surviving LEA.
|
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
2 range version came from the notion of her back up against a tree and not being able to use it
But with that said. my handful of games played fine with her as is. Thoughts? |
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
If you think she plays fine then I withdraw my objection to the low Life. Reluctantly.

I'm ok with power only having range 1 instead of 2 She might be able to go lower in Points, to 110. But I err on side of expensive. |

Thoughts on range 1 v 2?
Points 120 v 110? Voting deadline is this Friday. Expiration deadline is next Friday. @SirGalahad is current Design Lead. @Tornado is next lead. @Sir Yeshua is lead after that. |
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
If range was playtested at 1 @ 120 and worked as expected, then I say keep that.
|
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
I vote to stay with range 1, points 120.
|
Re: Heroes of Fiction: Design Thread
Agreed.
|
Fixing What Ain't Broke
I concur with the others.
