Re: The Book of Vehicle Rules - Final Editing
Proposal: We add into the vehicle rules a flat, no one gets to attack while hiding inside a tank rule, no exceptions. This would prevent cheese and preserve some tank design space if tanks didn't have to account for a small handful of cards that can attack without needing LOS. Daredevil II for one was never intended to be attacking through solid plates of armor, I don't want his ability to throw his baton around a corner on a normal map to be applied to him while completely enclosed inside of an armored vehicle. As such this is my suggested update to what is in the SP.
Current: Figures occupying Vehicles with Full Cover are never in clear sight of figures outside of that Vehicle and never have clear sight on figures outside of that Vehicle. Update: Figures occupying Vehicles with Full Cover are never in clear sight of figures outside of that Vehicle, never have clear sight on figures outside of that Vehicle, and may never attack a figure outside of that Vehicle. No special power on an Army Card may circumvent this rule. |
Re: The Book of Vehicle Rules - Final Editing
What about Daredevil attacking someone inside a tank from the outside? Should that be allowed?

Re: The Book of Vehicle Rules - Final Editing
Are there any special powers that don’t require clear sight but do wound/auto destroy that would otherwise perpetuate this concern? I’m away from Index or I would research.

Is the deal about Magneto's helmet's purpose 'is to keep Charles out of his head' comic accurate? If so, shouldn't a tank also then thematically block Prof. X mental attacks? Re: The Book of Vehicle Rules - Final Editing
I’m sure Magneto’s helmet is made out of Antixavierium or something. I can imagine Xavier would be able to get at somebody in a tank. The problem is there’s no way to distinguish mechanically between a Xavier mind blast and a Daredevil blind trickshot.

Re: The Book of Vehicle Rules - Final Editing
This is the list of figures I found that could still use a power from the safety of the tank:
Bailey Hoskins Mojo Quentin Quire Raven Storm (I) Terra Of those, only Hoskins, Quire, Raven, and Terra can cause wounds with them (Storm can just move people with her Gale Force Winds and Mojo can cause wounds but only to figures adjacent to Destructible Objects). Hoskins is destroyed after using his, so it's a one off. Raven can only do it as long as she has wounds on her card to transfer, which she's not going to accumulate while in a tank. Quentin Quire and Terra seem to be the worst offenders at that point. I'm going to make a suggestion in Terra's thread that would be a patch for the issue for her. |

I'm still trying to decide on your proposed change (and wouldn't mind one of our wording gurus eyeballing it). Ultimately I still think we'd need to test Full Cover vehicles with Quentin Quire as a default. Though he at least has lower range on his power, better theme with it being psychic power, and doesn't have the attack shut down capability of a Judge Anderson to go along with it. And he has to give up his move to use the power. |
Re: The Book of Vehicle Rules - Final Editing
I'm totally on board with preventing all attacks while in full cover vehicles. I think the problems it'd prevent far outweigh the minor theme breaks.
