Re: Draftable Vehicles Discussion Thread (Public Testing)
Well, since they drive on the wrong side of the road when turning left you actually must use the right blinker. Very confusing.

Re: Draftable Vehicles Discussion Thread (Public Testing)
What would you do if a loved one got hurt or was having a baby or otherwise needed quick transportation to a hospital?
That's one of the justifications I've used before and have heard many others mention. Even if you don't wish to drive on a day to day basis, learning and knowing how to drive could save your life or the life of someone else. :2cents: Anyways, that's off-topic. A car is much easier to operate than a helicopter or another complex machine, so I can see the point of limiting it. I'm not sure there is a way to, though. Even if you say only humans or humanoids can operate, most humans can't fly a helicopter, even poorly in a skirmish. I think it would work better without any restrictions. |

Re: Draftable Vehicles Discussion Thread (Public Testing)
1) I like a good road trip.
2) Hard to get public transit into the mountains for hiking. 3) Some music just sounds better when driving. 4) The US's infrastructure was designed with the idea of everyone driving everywhere always. Colorado has proved mercifully more walkable than upstate NY, though. Were it not for those things, I'd be all about the no-car life. Anyhow... I did hit zombies in cars earlier. I'd kinda like to get one more test from a public member, to get another outsider perspective. I feel pretty good about everything balance-wise, and my biggest concern at this point is just... whether or not people are actually gonna enjoy this in its current form (some worries about the feedback from our last sign-up). So I'd say test whatever you want, T. Flip through some of the earlier tests (they're linked in the OP) to get some ideas about how to leverage the Sports Car. Maybe try one game where you're really trying to leverage it, and one where it's a bit more of a throw-in. I'm as concerned about the 'fun' report as anything. |

Yeah, you missed the 80s when that was cool. :)

Re: Draftable Vehicles Discussion Thread (Public Testing)
Yeah, I was watching some tv show or movie somewhat recently where they went back in time or something and a guy was carrying around a huge boom box and making everyone on the block (or maybe it was on the subway) listen to his favorite song. Now everyone just has an ipod with a set of headphones, so much better.

The exception is when, instead of the usual generic 'doom-da-da-doom-da-da-doom' sounds you occasionally get classical music or opera, which feels so strangely out of place I just have to smile. Only happened a couple of times, though. |
Re: Draftable Vehicles Discussion Thread (Public Testing)
Agreed that the fun test is really the only one that matters at the moment. Until we are confident on that one, we can't really move forward in any meaningful way.
