Hey all,

In the wake of the discontinuation of our beloved Scape I've become more involved with some of the customs projects on the site. In this particular case the custom master set project (CMSP). I've never formally done any customs, and while I've some good ideas I don't think my personal expertise lies in full-fledged design. Rather I think my best avenue of contribution lies in helping review and refine custom works.

As such I took on the task of playtesting the first figure designed by the CMSP team, Iktaras. This is my first time formally playtesting a figure, and I must say the whole process has proven to be a lot of fun! Granted there is still a lot of testing to be done (there is a pretty formal and well designed process posted in the CMSP playtesting thread) but here are some notes from the games and some thoughts on the figure so far.

Oh, and for those that would like to know, here is the first draft of the army card.

Well WotC has proven the DnGers right... A fact that does not surprise me in the least.

I've been a champion of the DnD-scape experiment for a year now, and I've done my very best to stay positive about the direction of the game, and to debunk the nay-sayers of the forums that just wanted nothing to do with DnD scape.

But the announcement today wasn't as shocking as I thought it would be. I knew it was coming the day the big box stores dropped the line. I had hopped that we'd get to see some of the gaps of "classic scape" filled in a bit more but that's life right?

The thing is, I always thought it would be a crushing blow. I assumed I'd read about it on the front page one morning and feel like I got punched in the guts, got dumped by my girlfriend and my dog ran away... but it just wasn't like that.

After my initial 30 seconds of shock, and about 5 mins of intense WotC hating (I still think this is an amazingly short sighted...

While responding to a post on the front page (a little back and forth between my self and The B.I.V. in the River of Blood release thread) I noticed that a few people have been using the term "DnGer" to refer to some members that insist on insisting that DnD is in fact the end of all things scape. DnG standing for Doom and Gloom and bearing a striking similarity to DnD (or Dungeons and Dragons). The term fits some of the more vocal members of the camp particularly well for thier ability to sniff out any DnD talks and drop a little "the end is NIGH" talk on the conversation (CC comes instantly to mind, but there are others).

After hitting the fourms and a few of my subscibed threads I again saw the phrase used by a few members. I find the propagation of the term particulalry awesome because, as far as I know, I was the first to use it. Now I could definitely be wrong on that, but I do know for sure that I came up with it on my own, even if someone else beat...

Hey All,

Partially inspired by a thread were I got some of my first neg-rep in a long time, and much more because I love the site and all things Heroscape I finally ponied up a few bucks to help support the site. An intresting ramification of this is now I get a blog spot here on the site... which I think might be the perfect forum in which to talk about some of the more inane and random things I often like to joke about (like my new awesome ripped pants...)

But rather than just turn this blog into a repository for crazy musings and random thoughts on the game, the community and indeed the world at large I thought I'd at least try to balance things out with some actual stories and insights.

On that note just last night I picked up another BftU master set (bringing my total up to four now). I had originally planed to build the entire RoB scenario, but after much debate decided that I'd actually play though the first dungeon dive from the rule book....
