New year, new blog entry.
As it is a new year and we reflect on the past year to make goals for the next year, I think it’s very appropriate for me to list what I hope to contribute to the great community that is Heroscapers.
Let me look first at my past failings. I know I am not very good at making custom figures or even re-painting existing figures. There’s a certain amount of dexterity required for these things that I just don’t have. I have yet to try re-basing figures from other games, etc. but it seems like something I can probably do (I think I’ll start by re-basing some hero-clix for C3G figures), though there are others that are already doing it far better than me. I’ve tried building maps, and while I am getting better they still pale in comparison to those I’ve seen here.
Now we can repair some of the damage to my self esteem by exploring my strengths. I am getting better at...

Hi All-
Well, I really don’t expect too many people to read this. I guess it should start “Hi me (and anyone who accidentally stumbled in here)”. And who would want to read this anyway with all the other great content on this site? I mean, who is this Onichi guy anyway?
Origin of the name:
Growing up with a very common name, I frequently tried out new nicknames; D.C., D., Big D., D-Man, etc. D-man eventually shifted into Demon. After I entered college with the goal of becoming a teacher, I was exposed to the (then) obscure art form of Japanese animation (anime). My favorite series became “Great Teacher Onizuka” (GTO) as I saw many parallels between myself and the titular character. At one point in the series, a student gives him the pet name “Onichi”. I found this an appropriate name for myself due to the many similarities and the fact that an “oni” is a Japanese demon.
