This is the first of (hopefully) many music reviews done by me for the community. I'm going to go with the A+ - F ranking system. So without further ado, I present to you, Menchy's Myoozik Review: M.I.A./Diplo's Piracy Funds Terrorism Volume 1.

Artist: M.I.A. and Diplo
Album: Piracy Funds Terrorism Volume 1
Grade: A-

I will start out by saying that I listen to quite a bit of music, and I am certainly not a person who is easily impressed. I can spot generic $%!# a mile away, and there are very VERY few artists whom I respect. M.I.A., however, happens to be one of those few. I was initially impressed by Kala, the first of her albums that I heard, then moreso impressed by Arular, her earlier album. But this, her earliest work, takes the cake by far. This album, originally handed out before the debut of Arular, is everything I love about M.I.A. without anything that I hate about her. I have always been attracted to Maya's originality, catchy...

I mean, she is (arguably) pretty much the most talented recording artist alive today. So needless to say, I'm excited. Especially considering this may or may not be the last album she makes before she kicks the bucket (although hopefully she can beat her drug addiction). Not really a terribly long blog, but if anyone else likes Amy Winehouse I figured they might like to know. Ahhhhhh!!! So excited!!
~Menchy, saying no, no, no! to the thought of an Amy Winehouse-less world.

I was coming off a bad week. I got fired from my job, was grounded, and found out that I owed my parents a couple hundred dollars. Needless to say, it would take quite a bit to cheer me up. It took about five minutes of reading Entertainment Weekly before I was all smiles. Here is the quote that cheered me up the most:

Quote:
In fact, star Jeffrey Tambor told EW last month that "we are indeed doing" the film, but a script hasn't yet been written. (EW issue #1002)

For those of you who don't know, he is talking about Arrested Development, the funniest TV show ever made. (And that's not at all an exaggeration.) The show follows the dysfunctional and rich Bluth family, who's father, the head of the Bluth Company, has been put into jail for building homes for Saddam Hussein. The middle son, Michael (Jason Bateman), is forced to run the company whilst dealing with his colorful cast of family members including:
His cold, alcoholic mother Lucielle (Jessica...

Hey all. Upon a reccomendation from my friend, I headed over to threadless.com. The moment my computer logged on, I was in heaven. It's a T-Shirt site with an ongoing open call for community T-Shirt designs. The T-Shirts there are some of the best I have seen on the web. Plus, if you go there through the link at the bottom of the blog and buy something, I get money toward my next shirt. So head over there. You won't regret it.

Well, I am taking a departure from my previous format today. I was doing a school project that involved photographing some houses in my neighborhood, and I decided to share some of the more architecturally appealing ones.

First of all, we have my house. Obviously the greatest house in the neighborhood.

This house has a great porch.

I think that the wooden details on this house are great.

The bricks on this are very cool. They aren't laid normally, and they create a lot of visiual interest.

Our town has a bit of a problem with knockdowns, where small houses or houses in disrepair are knocked down and replaced...
