C3G Interview
Author: YodaKing & Tornado

Last time we took a little stroll into the past with a classic Scapemage interview. Yodaking and I thought it would be fun to catch up with the freshly reinstated C3G Hero. Let us catch up with the man known as “Scape.”

Catch us up. What have you been up to since retiring from C3G?

A lot has happened since I left C3G. I believe I was in early high school (one or two years in) when I stepped down from the project. At that time, my gaming interests were being pulled in a lot of different ways. The New England Heroscape group I was/am a part of began migrating heavily into board gaming, and I followed suit. I was beginning to get really into board games and amass a sizable collection, and now board gaming is my number one hobby. Additionally, my cousin and uncle, who

Customs Creation
The Epitome of Play
Author: Scytale

This article completes a series begun with an overview of the four pillars of customs creation, which was followed up by individual articles that focused in on balance, theme, and creativity. This article will tackle the final aspect: playability.

Playability is both the culmination of all the other aspects and an aspect of its own. Different people will define “playability” differently, but all of the personal definitions are really the same at their cores. The exact details may differ, but ultimately they all ask the same question: “How well does the unit play in an actual game?” This isn’t merely a question of value for the cost, or effectiveness in different armies and against various opponents, or its “cool” factor. It’s all of these things, and more. The most important addition

C3G Strategy Guide
Hawkeye (Kate Bishop)
By: Lazy Orang

A newer figure, and one of my favourite C3G characters to be released this year, Ms. Bishop can be as deadly as she is sarcastic ... but how do you best make use of this exceptionally cheap and versatile archer?

Analyzed Statistics

Left Box Breakdown
Species – Human (slight synergy and a few weaknesses, but nothing major or relevant here).
Uniqueness – Unique Hero.
Class – Rookie (this synergy is still new and developing, and somewhat on the weak side, but it does exist in the shape of Speed, Vision (Jonas), and Patriot).
Personality – Sarcastic (instantly causes me to warm to the character, but has no mechanical effect).
Size/Height – Medium

’Scaper of the Month
Author: The Grim Reaper’s Friend

Although I haven’t had too many dealings with johnny139 (despite him being a writer for the Codex), I’ve run across him a few times, and always thought I would like to know more about him. Today that wish is granted. I give you the newest ’Scaper of the Month: johnny139!

Who are you really?
John. Not “Johnny” anymore, except to family—that’s what you get for signing up to a website when you’re 13 years old! I go as “jph139” on other forums, because I’m one of those weird people that still posts on forums.

How old are you?
25 years old. Next September, I’ll have spent 50% of my life posting on this website.

What is your occupation?
Bank stuff. Fraud, mostly. It’s boring, next question.

What’s another

By: BiggaBullfrog

Hello, mapmakers! With our next contest—“Secret Treasures of Valhalla”—announced, we’re looking forward to the maps that you’ll be creating! To help you in your mapmaking, we present you with this article of tips to remember when going through your creative process.

While creating a fun, original map is an exciting process, making sure that it’s balanced can at times be difficult. There are some common themes, however, that we find when we’re looking at potential tournament maps. Sir Heroscape compiled a list of ten items that we commonly see when evaluating maps and put them in the ARV Contest Thread as tips to consider when creating a map. In this article, we’ll go a little more in-depth with each of these tips and examine exactly how and why these things can hold a map back from
