I had a mini four player tournament with 3 of my friends last night. We played a series of 1 on 1 battles with 600 point armies primarily featuring the new units.

I took Atlaga and 3 squads of protectors, Kumiko and a squad of Deathstalkers.

Player 2 took Migol and 4 squads of Dwarves, Finn and Brunak.

Player 3 took Spartacus, Crixus, Retarius and 3 Squads of Gladiators.

Player 4 Took Brave Arrow, Zelrig, Ninjas of the northern wind, Sonya Eisenwein and 3 squads of braves.

We made sure everyone played each other at least once and for everyone but me the battles went very well.
I can only blame my loss on EXTREMELY BAD ROLLING. My protectors of Ullar did NOTHING in 3 games. When ever they were attacked, be it for 1, or 2 damage, they rolled one fewer shield every time (if they were lucky enough to roll a single shield at all…)
I was really looking forward to using them too, and the fact that they were so utterly...

Wave 9s upcoming release has really rekindled my creative thought process on Heroscape.
I have been doing some serious brainstorming about new maps and game variants as of late.

I am taking steps to make some of my own custom units and will hopefully be able to post them soon. Due to limited recourses I do not have any photo programs to make "official" looking cards, nor am I making figures to go with them. My goal is simply to keep my creative juices flowing and maybe get my ideas noticed and have others get inspires by them.

I have been more active in the forums as of late and have picked a very volatile time to do so. There is a surprising amount of negativity in these forums that I hope in time will lessen. I think the best way to combat negativity is with positive energy. I hope to be a source of that to my fellow scapers with my ideas and insight. And in time I hope to attain the status of "pillar of the community" that many before...

Just like every other member on this site, I am a quiver in anticipation of wave 9s arrival.

As always, I will hold my local release tournament with my friends and have some 1 on 1 matchups and kill an evening with incessant dice rolling and an onslaught of plastic figure destroying!

I am most looking forward to an army of Kyrie with Atlaga bolstering them on. And if I do not get a chance to draft them, I will make a gladiator army with the new squads.
Either way, I will have a blast with the new figures.

I am trying to find the enthusiasm to be more active in posting and in the communities here. But it seems like by the time I see a thread, it has received enough wisdom that further comments arent worth the effort, or it has been shot down by other members as a waste of thread.

Hopefully in the coming weeks, Heroscape will see allot of play time. I am doing what I can to inspire more local friends to get into the game. I...

It has been a couple months since we have played Heroscape due to Holidays and end of the year events. I think during times like this is when Heroscape needs a new expansion to breathe new life into the game. Seeing that wave 9 will eventually be coming out fills me with hope, but I am thinking they will probably delay it till late summer early fall.

So I have been fulfilling a lot of my gaming urges on my ever growing collection from some of my other games. I am almost done painting my descent figures and will be able to start playing that again. I want to play more dungeon twister; I feel I have barely scratched the surface of how that game is played.

So I think to revive Heroscape and keep the game alive during these upcoming months I will have to host another tournament very soon. I think I will up the point limit to 700. I have tried 4, 5 and 600 so far and the bigger the armies, the more interesting the battles.
But this leads to longer rounds, and...

So with the arrival of Agent Skahen, I decided to draft an army that consists of all the special release promo figures. (EOV, Nerak, Sir Hawthorne, Master Woo and Skahen). We upped the limit to 1000 so I could fill out the army with some squads to augment the mish mosh of heroes.

Agent Skahen had a rough start, she was invincible as far as defending, but unfortunately, so was my opponent. So I kept placing order markers on microcorp agents, assuming that Skahen would have allowed them to advance with cover fire. I wish that ability was "whenever she ATTACKS, not causes damage".

Sir Hawthorne did very well, and managed to hack down some squads and finish off an inspired Retarius. And for the first time he did not betray me...

The EOV, which are hands down my favorite unit in the game did absolutely NOTHING. They wouldn't frenzy and my opponent with the use of roads managed to close the gap.

Master Woo was mind shackled by...
