The map looks quite nice (we chaged up the colours, and put sand tiles on top, and used the MS3 mountains for the 1-hex trees).
Play is interesting - the road has a break, so you can't rush all the way into the enemy territory. This is a good thing. But with only one way across the river, troops do get a little backed up, unless they have flying/water movement abilities.
My one suggestion, move the glyphs to lower terrain - putting the glyphs on the key heights moved all the action there - there is little incentive to use the rest of the map.
Of note, we used only 400 pt armies. Given the large expanse of space, it may work better with larger armies. I think there's enough space for 2v2 if you increase the start zone.
