Stonegate Dam once served to divert the Tiresia River away from Kyrie towns in nearby Stonegate Valley. However, war has driven the inhabitants of these towns away from their homes and the care of the dam has been neglected. Now the waters below the dam have turned dank and fetid, perfect for a new breeding ground for Utgar's loyal Marro forces. Utgar sends warriors to secure the dam, but allied spies learn of his plan and get word back to their generals, who are determined not to let the dam fall into Utgar's hands.

Didn't this used to be less symmetrical, or is it my imagination? It soesn't really need to bother with trying to be symmetrical, as one end has that elevation. I think you should make it totally asymmetrical.

Thanks for checking out my map, guys. I just edited the pdf download to reflect the newly revealed Ticalla Jungle rules, specifically the rule that requires Palm Trees and Bushes to be connected to two hex sides. I thought it might be important if the rule exists because the terrain doesn't stand up very well without a little support.

To soberman: I didn't intend for version 2.0 to get more symmetrical, but I can see why you think it is. The starting zones, especially, are more identical and evened out than in version 1.0, but the general layout of the map is the same as before. The bridge and riverbanks are still asymmetrical, as are things like jungle placement and swamp water puddles. I prefer designing asymmetrical maps, but I try to keep them mostly fair.

We played this map this weekend - I must say it looks GREAT on the table.

The stability of the dam area is a little weak - is this because you wanted to minimize the number of pieces used? As well, there are also some strange overhangs over the water (but I may have got some things wrong)

A note to future players - this map is suited for BIG armies. We played it with a small armies and ended up battling over the bridge - the dam did not come into play. I would suggest this would work best as a four-player scenario - and add an extra glyph at the back of the dam to force some of the game to the heights.

But, other than these minor issues, this map looks great!

(Edit: accidently put my comments under the first version - corrected now)
