In eons past a great war ravaged the land. It left the land desolate, shattered. The war was waged for one purpose- power.
Twin amulets were the cause for the bloodshed. Two warlords, neither with the merest streak of mercy, desired them. With even one of the amulets a person would become a mighty warrior. With both of them, one’s power would incontestable.
In order to bring an end to the conflict the Circle of N’lanos, a powerful council of mages and wizards, arrived at a difficult decision- the decision to shatter the amulets and the land. Using their arcane arts they caused both of the amulets to shatter into three pieces. They also caused portions of the land to break free of the mortal realm and pass into the realms of the ethereal. On each of these pieces of land in the ethereal realm, out of reach of either of the warlords, lay one piece of the amulets.
The long forgotten secrets of the Circle of N’lanos have once again been revived, and with them, the knowledge of how to recover the amulets. A great evil has arisen to claim the amulets. Only you stand in the way. Your only recourse- recover the pieces of at least one of the amulets and use its power to destroy the evil in the land once and for all.
Shattered Lands is a symmetrical 2 player map using 400-600 point armies.
