So What Is Steamroller?

I have been all over Heroscapers blasting folks with Steamroller. Many of you are probably wondering what the heck is Steamroller? And an insignificant few of you are probably thinking STFU!

So anyway, I thought tonight, since I have relaxed with a glass or 3 of red wine, I would give in and let you all know what Steamroller is.

See when we are play-testing figures for Heroscape we like to try certain army builds. Some of these we build in an effort to break the system, and others we use as strong stable test choices that will create a decent challenge for any army. We like to give these armies nicknames.

When testing figures for Wave 9 there was a particular army design we like to call The Steamroller. The army got the name for two reasons.

1- This army build is powerful and can crush other armies if you're not careful. Steamroller!

2- When playing this army, it is beneficial to continually pull figures from the rear and move them to the front so that your entire army slowly rolls forward... Steamroller Baby!

Now my question is, can any of you tell me which figures in wave 9, if included in the right army, make up the Steamroller? C'mon ding-dongs! Who is gonna guess it right!

I am going to assume Gladiators.

I'll guess the dwarves based on the pack description. Plus they're short, which is sort of like being a baby...

When thinking slow but strong I think Dwarves...but after seeing the info today I am going to say the Dividers which seem to be like Agent Smith in The Matrix

My vote was going to be dwarves, but now I think the Marro could be it. That would actually be a disappointment for me, though, because the Marro are already well-established, and I want to see more reasons to play other armies.

I'm gonna say Tor-Bok-Ra and the Dividers, but my intial gut reaction was the Gladiators and the Braves together, along with their requisite Unique Heroes.

Actually, yeah, I'm gonna say that.

I'm going to guess a Repulor army with Zetacron and Omnicrons, especially if the Repulsors boost the attack of the aforementioned soulborgs.

I'm thinking that the Dwarves are the SteamRoller. I'm really looking forward to playing with them. Of course, if the Repulsers are hard to beat, that'd be just fine as well.

Add me to the list of votes for the Dividers. They're signed up for the "no marro left behind" program.

After reading the dividers info again I keep thinking they may work differently than anything we have ever seen.

Like...you only place 1 of the 3 in the squad on the board. After they move they can divide into 3 (or if they are a squad of 4 it would be 2 turning into 4) The new Marro hero moves up summons the dividers...they split...and form a wall across the battlefield.

I think it's the gladiators. After reading the description:

"The Capuan Gladiators are ready to charge forward at their leader’s side to land the first blow of any battle."

I thought of Valguard's First Assault 3. That would make it "...beneficial to continually pull figures from the rear and move them to the front..." in order to keep using a First Assault-like ability.

I'm going to jump on the Dividers and Tor-Bok-Ra bandwagon.
