With friends like these who needs enemies?!

Posted April 15th, 2011 at 03:42 PM by truth
Well, you do, right!?
The C3G Project proudly presents custom Wave 5 of Superhero VILLAIN goodness. Yes, with a name like WORLD´S VILEST, you probably guessed it, this one is all about the bad guys!!!
The C3G Project celebrates it´s 2 year birthday on April 23rd, but the presents are all for YOU! The cards for these figures will be released for the big party, but here´s a little preview, just so you know what to expect, and what figures to get ready for the festivities...
For those of you who have been living with the Mole Man for the past few years, the C3G Project are makers of fine, hand crafted custom superhero cards. This is not an official product! Read more about the C3G Project HERE!

WORLD´S VILEST contains 3 boosters of pure evil, the first one, INJUSTICE LEAGUE, are all DC villains, generally concerned with giving Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, and all the other members of the JLA, a hard time...

(All figures in the picture are the ones used on the cards, except for Gorilla Grodd.)

The C3G project already brought you one Lex Luthor, the manipulating, red Kryptonite-wielding business man, (Check him out HERE) but this time, we bring you the full-on battle version! Luthor ruthlessly sacrfices his allies to stay alive, and even if he´s only human, his Kryptonian armor gives him the means to go toe to toe with the Man of Steel...

Professor Zoom, also known as the reverse Flash, is as fast as his counterpart, but manipulates the negative speed force to attack multiple opponents.

Everybody needs a psychic gorilla, and Grodd fits the bill perfectly! Using the power of his mighty brain, Grodd protects himself from harm, and manipulates both ally and enemy to achieve his goals... Dance puppet! Dance!

Better find your sunglasses, cause you don´t want to look directly at Doctor Light! When they get too close, his opponents can´t attack the good Doctor with any powers that require clear sight, and if he´s close enough to look YOU directly in the eyes, you´re in BIG trouble! But this is nothing compared to the trouble you´re in, if you´re constructed of pure energy...

Chronos the time bandit moves effortlesly through time itself. If he takes a beating, he always has the option of making a timely(!) disappearance from the battlefield, resting up and healing, and then jumping right back at the enemy just mere moments after he left.

The Injustice League range from 75 to 280 points.

(All figures in the picture are the ones used on the cards, except for Loki. The Kang figure on the card is the one with the guns.)

The ENEMIES OF THE AVENGERS booster has some of the most iconic, heavy-hitting, villains to ever have fought the Avengers. ranging from 260 to 680 points, and even including an EVENT HERO, these guys mean business, and yes, it is a MEAN business!

Absorbing Man adapts to the surrounding terrain, moving unhindered around the battlefield. He absorbs the properties of destructible objects, or even his enemies, turning their own strength against them, and if all else fails, there´s always his trusty ol´ ball and chain!

Graviton manipulates the powers of gravity (no surprise there, he sort of gives that away with the name) throwing his enemies to the ground, but standing firm if anyone tries to move HIM around. Capable of repulsing physical objects, his enemies will have a hard time landing a blow or hitting him with projectiles, thrown objects, kitchen sinks, or whatever...

Loki is all about deception and mischief, and with a new, groundbreaking C3G power, he get´s an EXTRA X order marker to play around with for all sorts of devious effects. (I wouldn´t be surprised if some coming release contained other Asgardian themed units with X related powers...) Loki can deflect incoming damage onto other figures, preferring goody-two-shoes types like his valiant half brother Thor, and when the situation gets too dangerous for his liking, he´ll just fade away and disappear...

Ultron is one of the scariest enemies the Avengers have ever faced, and is quite appropriately cast as a C3G Event Hero. Made from virtually indestructible adamantium alloy, and armed with the Encephalo Ray, Ultron's attacks leave opponents helplessly stunned, unable to retaliate. And when he feels his existence threatened, he can transfer his program to nearby allies or enemies, taking over and starting fresh with, ouch!, 13 life! I guess Ultron skipped robot school the day they taught Asimov´s 3 Laws of Robotics...

Time travelling Kang is an Uncommon Hero, which means you can have a whole army of him/them. (?) Taking a Council of Kangs to the table is great fun, as, when Kang, erm, that is, one of your Kangs, uses the Glyph of Temporal Displacement, which, as it were, is one of your, or that particular Kang´s, Glyph(s)..... erm, uh...
Suffice to say that when you bring a bunch of time travellers to the table, all kinds of weird and wonderful things happen! But I´ll let you figure it out for yourself...

(All the figures in the picture above are the ones used on the cards, except for Mandarin and Red skull.)

The last booster of this wave, HEADS OF CRIME, brings you some leaders for some of Marvel´s most insidious secret organizations... Remember the HYDRA Agents from C3G Wave 4, and their Ruthless Mastermind Bonding? You´re spoilt for choice now, when it comes to deciding who to lead your HYDRAs into battle, as we bring you, not one, not two, but three villains who fit the job profile!

Madame Hydra inspires her subjects to efficient killing by personal example, leading from up front, but also happily sacrificing her own men to stay alive.

Baron Von Strucker orders his subjects efficiently around, and that HellBoy´esque thing on his right hand is not just for show either! It is the electrically charged Satan´s Claw! Expect extra nastiness when androids, and/or water are involved. Don´t get too *cough* close to him *cough cough* as he releases *cough* deadly spores... *ACHOOO!*

The official Marvel Master set included a Red Skull, but the good people of C3G felt they wanted to do their own version. (expect to see more alternative takes like that in coming releases) This time he gets the Dual Lugers Special attack he should have had in the first place, but also brings the all powerfull COSMIC CUBE to the battle!

Arch enemies of the HYDRA are A.I.M., and one of the headmen (pun intended) of that organization is M.O.D.O.K. - Mobile Organism Designed Only for Killing! A powerful psycher, capable of averting the most devastating attacks, and going on murderous killing sprees, tearing through hordes of enemies. Telepaths can expect to be his personal playthings... There are currently no squads of A.I.M Agents to back him up, but there´s always next year...

The Mandarin has more BLING than a GANGSTA RAPPER, wielding the Makluan Power Rings, in the form of 3 glyphs that he starts the game with, giving him all sorts of nasty powers.
-Makluan Matter Rings let him ignore the hindering and damaging effects of terrain.
-Makluan Electromagnetic Rings let him move friends and enemies around the battlefield.
-Makluan Energy Rings let him release devastating attacks.
A fourth ring power is not a glyph, but part of the card itself. The Mento Intensifier Ring protects Mandarin and his allies from all sorts of mental hostile takeovers...

The characters in this booster are in the 140 to 360 point range.

Hope you´ve enjoyed the preview, and hope we´ll see you at the party! There´ll probably be cake!

This is a good wave. I generally like me some good ol' Heroes but these are awesome Villains.

I've used all of these save two: Loki and Lex. And I can assure you they are all fun to use.

Great write-up as usual DW

There are some really great villains in this set, some real powerhouses to give the heroes a fit.
