In a fight between me and the world...
bet on the world.
So this weekend, my two very good friends Mick and Ozzie are coming to my place in Rochester, NY to put a HS whoopin on me. I am looking forward to this weekend because I don't get to play much and I have improved my playing from last we battled (I hope).
Background info: Mick and Ozzie were introduced to gaming by me back in high school. I started them out playing Heroquest and Battlemasters...for those of you with nostalgic memories, then it was on to Rifts, AD&D, and eventually GURPS. The funny thing about all of this is the fact that they are much better at games like Heroscape than I am. So much of any gaming weekend is me starting off in the defensive position hoping not to be beaten too severly. Definitly a case of the teacher getting schooled by his students.
Anyway, back to the present. We probably have 1 or 2 times a year when we get together for an all out game-a-palooza weekend as I like to call it. Mick, Oz, and I started this tradition back in 2003 I think. They are both married and both have 2 young children a peice. I am still married to my job (which I love), attending school (which I hate), and yet happy to be gaming the little I can.
So this weekend, I plan on taking a lot of pictures of our games (stay tuned). I want to try to use my vampires, my Zombie hord army (400pts) and my wolves. Mick usually uses the Marro with lethal results and Ozzie can make 2 units of agents into my personal Alamo. If anyone has any army ideas (200-500 pts) for me to try against Mick or Ozzie, I would really appreciate it.
We also are going to be playing some Heroclix (Ozzie's by far the best player - because he owns all of them), some Star Wars Minis (we all are pretty good at that one), I put together a Rifts Role-playing game and I think Mick put together a Star Wars RPG too.
Anyway, army suggestions for me would be most appreciated. Thanks!

Okay so gaming weekend went as expected. I won one game. But I do have to say I am quite proud of that win, it was 2 on 1. I started off with 2 units of cavalry, Sir Dupuis, Sir Gilbert, Sir Denrick, Raelin, and 2 units of Knights. Mick and Ozzie had 2 units of celts, Alistor McDirk, Thorgrim, Major Q9, Zettian Guards, and a Deathwalker 9000. They tore up my cavalry with range and surprisingly all the celts. I could almost see the foot soldiers tearing the Templar knights off the backs of their horses only to be struck with a pickax or hatchet. Sir Gilbert for the majority of the game was the only figure that was successful against the rabble. After he fell, it was Alistor, Deathwalker 9000, 2 Zettian guards and 2 celts against 3 knights of Weston. They kept their momentum and gummed my opponents to defeat over the next 10 minutes. These are the times I remember that I really like this game.
