Heroscapers.com moved to a new server today. Hopefully you notice no differences, other than things being a bit faster.

We put those stats in the spoiler in part to not give everyone the impression we'll have 10x the performance. Generally Heroscapers has been pretty speedy...except when it hasn't. Random slowdowns, database errors, and general unresponsiveness for minutes or hours at a time are the performance problems we're hoping to address here and will hopefully be a thing of the past. There *should* be an overall speed bump in the form of a bit snappier page loads.
For those interested, the new server is much more capable in ways other than just bandwidth. It's got 9600 GB (9.6 TB) of disk space vs 360 GB (0.36 TB) on the old one, 64 GB of RAM vs 2 GB on the old one, and about 20 GHz worth of cores vs 3.7 GHz. |
