Figure used: Batman: Alpha Target Exclusive

*Note: Custom is not mine! Designed by IAmBatman. I only did the artwork for this one and cleaned up some of the special power wording!

As stated above, this is NOT my custom unit. This beauty was put together by IAmBatman, garnered with a TNT label, so you know the unit is up to par! However, I finally got this fig and wanted to put together a custom unit worthy of the Target exclusive. I think IAB's incarnation does quite well.

Note that with all the wording for the special powers, the font size had to be set at 6.5pt! So it's really, really, REALLY small. Think Jotun special powers small!

A CLASSIC custom - and your skills have certainly done it justice.

I may not be a fan of Marvel, but I can appreciate the quality of these cards... fantastic!

JOHNNY: Yeah, I really like this unit. IAB did a great job! It's always easier putting a card together once someone has already done all the hard work in creating it.

NECRO: Thanks! I had a tough time figuring out what colors to use, but I think overall the scheme worked out well.

NYYS: Appreciate it. Though the more I look over the comic cards available here, the more I like what the members here have done to build upon the seemingly defunct Marvel Heroscape brand, and the comic theme overall. Some great stuff over there!

I'd always been taught that borrowing colors from another image involved was a good way to keep a color scheme together. That gold looks like it came from the belt and it looks good.

NECRO: Yeah, a lot of times thematic and recognizeable colors for super heroes are well established. So coming up with a color palette to use is nice and easy. However, how these colors are used on the cards is sometimes difficult to determine, as I want to best covey the character and mood of the hero without going too over the top.

I also add different textures to the background, and lighting/shading elements. Both of these help make the card more visually interesting while also helping with the theme of the card.

BTW, you were correct in that I did get the gold color from the belt of the Batman fig.

Your art is amazingly amazing! IamBatman's card has reached a level of like.. Heroscapers Knighthood or something.

Oh wow, I hadn't seen this until now! Great stuff, Hex! I'm incredibly flattered. I think I'll go ahead and post this in my custom thread as well, if it's OK with you. That might be the best artwork I've ever seen on a custom card.
