Well, I've Had A Nice Few Days...

Posted June 1st, 2014 at 11:53 AM by Joseph Sweeney
They've actually been almost superb! Very few things could have made the past few days better.

It all started Friday -- I woke up a 6:30, showered, ate, went an taught little kids to swim from 9:00-10:00. Later in the day, my friend gave me The Fault In Out Stars to read, and swim practice got cancelled due to weather, so the whole team got together and played soccer.

Saturday hit, and I went to morning practice, then went home and read TFIOS for a few hours, then I went back for another swim practice later in the day, and from there I went and played paintball with my friends and got welts all over my body (and got MVP for the day)

I don't know, it was all just little things I guess, but I enjoyed everything about it, and it made me feel really alive. It made me realize a few things:

1) (inspired by TFIOS) Life is so short and so precious; what little there is of it you shouldn't spend worrying.

2) (again, inspired by TFIOS) You really shouldn't be afraid to love -- "without pain there is no joy" -- if you're rejected, move on and realize you can't be happy unless you've felt the sting a disappointment.

3) The little things mean a lot to me. The big moment when you make Zone cut times isn't important in comparison to all the times I've hung out with my friends, got the crap blasted out of me in paintball .etc

You guys ever have these kind of days?
