Have you ever fought an unequal fight? It seems everyone is always taking about 500 points against 500, or some such number. Heroscape is a great game and those fights are fun, but some of my very favourite are the unequal point fights.
We have resumed our "big game" again. If you don't know, it's a "long war" game. We have a bulletin board with push pins representing point generating cities and outposts, roads, water, and of course the volcano. We've redesigned it so it's just a hundred squares this time, so it doesn't take such a long time to engage your enemies. Armies move across the board one square at a time (or three on road- if you build roads) and engage and fight for objectives- to take an outpost, or to slow down an invading army, or to occupy troops so they can't redeploy elsewhere. The battles are almost always unbalanced; 300 points versus 500 points, 425 against 295, etc. One of my favourite games (it has gone now into the realm... |
