This Week @ Heroscapers - April 16th, 2008

This post begins a new weekly article series entitled: This Week @ Heroscapers. In these articles I will highlight some of my favorite contributions to heroscapers.com.

Image of the Week

This week's image comes to us from Hex_Enduction_Hour. It is an original piece of art depicting Shiori, our favorite purple ninja, and Valguard, the lizard-armed viking champion, against a purple background. I love the creative use of colored paper here and it goes without saying that Hex has an outstanding artistic talent. Hex's artwork really does a lot to bring heroscape's characters to life.

Download of the Week

Our download of the week is Ch1can0's battlefield - Road to Rampage. This was recently selected by our group of battlefield specialists to be inducted into the "Battlefields of Valhalla", our seal of approval for highlighting the best of the best fan made battlefields and scenarios. It requires one Rise of the Valkyrie Master Set and one Forgotten Forest set and can be downloaded HERE.

Blog of the Week

RevDyer is a reverend who also plays heroscape. (How cool is that?) He is a highly respected member of our community here at heroscapers and he has a story about heroscape, cancer, and loving life. You can read it in his heroscapers blog HERE.

Thread of the Week

The Cowardly Win? In this thread heroscaper Gulp asks a tough question about using the time limit in tournament settings to gain leverage for a win. The community responds with their sometimes passionate thoughts on this topic.

Event of the Week

Battle at the Border
Massachusetts/Rhode Island HeroScape Tournament.
When: Saturday April 19th @ 11:30am
Where: Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church cafeteria in Woonsocket, RI
Street Address: 1409 Park Avenue, Woonsocket, RI 02895

The Week In Review

This week marked a big change at heroscapers.com. We've switched over to our newly organized, newly designed, feature rich website. As with any change it is taking members some time to adjust, but the overall reception has been a positive one. I for one am VERY excited about all of the changes and foresee a bright future ahead.

It's a bit embarrassing to find myself in your post, truth; but the rest of it is excellent, most especially HEH's art.

I like this idea, also. I know there have been folks asking about front page posts highlighting the many positive contributions made my members of this community. Not only does this give respect where it's due, but it also allows members to take part in these contributions. Much like the old, "Weekly 5ive."

HeH's work is teh awesomes. I've been playing HeroScape for a year or so and I've never really been inspired to draw anything HS themed. But now, w/ seeing HeH's stuff, I've been inspired. We'll see what will come of it!

Thanks for this post, Truth. Looking forward to this post every week as it helps those of us who don't have super time to spend on the forums.

Now I'm wondering why Heroscape.com hasn't officially put Heroscapers.com on their website?
