This is a neater way of storing my playtests for my customs that I want other people to be able to see. I mostly intend on posting about units that I'd like to submit to the SoV.

Broken Skyline by Longheroscaper
500 Points
Glyphs: Wannok (Wound), Valda (Move +2)

Current Version of Unit:
Spoiler Alert!

Army 1: Masha Shingai, Tomoe Gozen, Kaemon Awa, Tagawa Samurai, Izumi Samurai (495)
Army 2: Mohican River Tribe x3, Teeth of the Makwa x3, Brave Arrow, Kira Jax (500)

Which Units Survived?
2 Mohican River Tribesmen, 1 Teeth of the Makwa, Kira Jax (no wounds)
~100 Points

Game Summary:
The Mohican River Tribe received most of the early game markers, taking potshots at Tomoe Gozen (or Masha from out of Awakened Fear's range if there was a revealed Order Marker on him to avoid False Slumber). They managed to claim the central tower and Wannok quickly, leaving the Samurai to struggle after failing to claim either spot after the first round.

At that point, Masha came out and dealt a frighteningly strong blow against Brave Arrow, but just barely failed to finish him off. His aura was also able to help with decreasing the deadliness of the Mohicans on height (who still were invulnerable), but Tomoe Gozen gave up and stopped rolling any shields anyway (three 0/5 whiffs against 1/2 attack rolls in a row).

The Samurai managed to deal some damage, but things were looking very dire as Masha, Tomoe, and most of the Tagawa Samurai all fell. There were just two Izumi Samurai and Kaemon Awa left against a full 3 squads of Teeth of the Makwa (who were now in position thanks to Hunting Party), Brave Arrow (3 wounds), and 5 Mohican River Tribesmen.

Kaemon managed to claim the central height thanks to an initiative switch and proceeded to further his own legend, miraculously killing all but one Teeth of the Makwa, Brave Arrow, and all but 2 Mohicans. I don't know why Kaemon in particular seems to always go on such legendary streaks, but he managed to take out ~250 points before the MRT was able to outrange his special and whittle him down.

Statistics:
Awakened Fear:
-5 Dice to MRT attacking Masha
-2 Dice to MRT attacking others

Normal Attacks:
(5/5) against (2/3) from Brave Arrow

Defenses Within Awakened Fear:
N/A against (0/2) MRT
(2/3) against (1/2) MRT
(2/4) against (2/3) MRT (Brave Arrow boost from melee, only attack not on height)
(1/3) against (2/2) MRT
(0/3) against (1/2) MRT

Normal Defenses:
(2/3) against (2/4) Brave Arrow
(1/3) against (2/4) Brave Arrow
(0/3) against (1/3) MRT (lost initiative and wasn't able to activate aura in time)

Averages:
Shields: 36%
Skulls: 100% (only one strike)
Wounds to Masha Per Successful Hit: 1 (4 hits of 1 wound each, all from range when False Slumber was not active, plus 1 wound from Wannok)

Other Effects of Awakened Fear:
Tomoe Gozen rolled (0/5) against (1/2) from MRT
MRT whiffed with (0/2) against a Tagawa Samurai

Usefulness of Powers:
False Slumber was very easily avoided, despite being set up several times. It was child's play for the MRT to target another figure from range until Masha took a turn.

Overall, Masha thoroughly underwhelmed here. Part of the problem was the towers in the center that the Samurai couldn't stop the MRT from claiming, of course, but False Slumber simply didn't feel great. Encouraging the player to not take turns with Masha doesn't come across very well at all, whether to the player using him or to the opponent, and almost entirely trivializes the ability.

Most of the Pre-SoV discussion has been worried about Awakened Fear as well, so the change to make both abilities mutually exclusive does not address many complaints anyway. I'll be changing it to the following from now on:
Quote:
When Masha Shingai, or any Samurai that you control adjacent to Masha Shingai, receives one or more wounds from a normal attack by an attacking figure who is not adjacent, you may roll the 20-sided die. If you roll a 13 or higher, deal one wound to the attacking figure.
Essentially, the no revealed Order Markers restriction is being removed and the roll is being significantly increased to compensate.

Additional Comments:
Kaemon Awa is a legend.
