Unsung Heroes of Heroscape.
I know what you're thinking. Unsung heroes? Must be an article about Kee-Mo-Shi! Or perhaps the underused Sir Denrick. Or poor Parmenio. Nope on all accounts.

In the spirit of the hero-heavy release of the new Master Set, Road to the Underdark, this edition of Week@HSers is dedicated to the heroes - a few of the unsung heroes - of heroscapers.com.

First off, we have Rodriquez. And contrary to his user name and posting habits, he is neither Hispanic nor Dwarvish. Every summer, Rod runs a Heroscape tournament at DragonCon in Atlanta. He drives all the way there by himself and lugs upwards of 20 or so maps each time. He charges the convention-mandated minimum for the tourney. He brings lots of extra figures to lend to last-minute players...

D&D Heroscape Preview 3

Today we’re going to finish discussing exactly what you can expect from the latest Heroscape Master Set: “Master Set 3: Battle for the Underdark”. This is the final part of a three part overview of the Master Set as we build up towards the release date of January 4th. Our focus for week three is the Army Cards and Uncommon Heroes!

When we started designing this Master Set, we knew we would need monster hordes. Every Dungeon has monsters, and while we wanted these monsters to be beefy (they aren’t minions after all) we also wanted them to be able to attack in groups.

Treasure Glyphs:


Master Set 3 introduces a new type of Glyph: The Treasure Glyph. These Treasure Glyphs work similarly to normal Glyphs by granting special powers. However, they are mobile and can be moved throughout the battlefield by a Unique Hero as he or she carries it. While carrying it, the Hero gains the power listed on the Treasure Glyph. This is the first part of a three part overview of the Master Set as we build up towards the release date of January 4th. Our focus for week 1 of our previews is on what you’ll find when you open the box.

In the world of Valhalla, a battle rages. Warriors from all worlds and all times are summoned to fight in a war that could determine the fate of us all. The Valkyrie Generals Jandar, Ullar, Einar, Vydar, and Aquilla have allied against the evil Valkyrie Utgar as they seek to find and control the fifteen mystic wellsprings that hold the power to open up portals to other worlds.
