Adventurescape continues

Posted February 22nd, 2021 at 01:42 AM by Confred
Hard to believe this project is three years old.

Lately I've been updating, upgrading, and making spawn bags more uniform. There's approximately 25 levels of opponents near 150 per level.

There are a dozen or so damage types and before the wound markers were simply grouped with the units that dealt them. Now they have powers that specially say what to do with those markers.

Some squad figures have been shifted to heroes - and vice versa. Markers now make this more clear also. For the first three levels at least. I've been saving on my end, but a playable update will come more likely at the end and not between.

Glyphs can be dropped and markers can't

There are temporary and permanent Treasure Glyphs, Quest Treasure Glyphs, Power Glyphs, Special Power Glyphs - Experience, Escalation, and Challenges also now have Glyph forms.

Units can now be encountered with Glyphs to spicen up their arrival.

Yokai vs. Samurai + Mecha

Posted February 21st, 2021 at 07:18 PM by Astroking112
Well, in my infinite temptations for cool miniatures, I realized that the sculpt used for Mokumokuren actually had the availability for an SoV submission... And given the very positive responses that the design has gotten, Captain Stupendous and I decided that it's worth adding it to the testing pool to try and get it ready for Yokai Wave 2.

Ideally, Mokumokuren will add a lot to Yokai armies as their first non-Unique option, opening up army-building options a lot. Given that they're also offensively oriented, this has the potential to really diversify the faction, and a living object of some sort almost feels like a thematic necessity here given the actual Yokai legends. So we wanted to test out a revised draft from the one initially posted to my thread, which swaps the revealed OM gimmick to be more in line with other Yokai and adds a range limit to the "Lesser Shapeshift" for thematic reasons. Both of these changes should be minimal for Yokai builds, but...

Welcome all to another C3G Interview. I have been doing a bit of a mix of old interviews and new, so this time around I decided to give you both. GamerHusband goes back to the early days of C3G, but stepped away for a while. Well, he is back and is slowly digging into the new designs and having amazing battles.

So let us start with the old interview hosted by the legend that is davidlhsl.

Give it up for ... GamerHusband!

If you could change one thing about Heroscape, what would it be?

Bring it to back into production.

How often do you get to play Heroscape? I believe you also play with a gaming group. Tell us a bit about them.

For the last 5 years, I have played Heroscape weekly in a very steady group of

FFC #67 - Poldark

Posted February 15th, 2021 at 03:12 PM by The Grim Reaper's Friend
TGRF's Fan Fiction Chronicles - Entry #67

When I posted my most recent fan fiction, Valkyrie, I said there was a lot of stuff which had happened with my writing which I was eager to share. Now, I know most of it probably isn't that interesting, and honestly a lot of it is just untested theories. But there is one bit I've come to realize recently, which I intend to experiment with in whatever I write next, and which I hope will help my writing a lot. I'd like to share it.

It concerns the TV show Poldark. Now if you haven't seen the show, I won't spoil anything. But I will say that you need to see it. It is just an awesome show. Free on Amazon Prime.

Poldark is one of those British drama shows, in the same vein as Pride & Prejudice (albeit with substantially more action, and vastly more relatable plots). Every part of it is written well, and the plots are amazing. But it shines in two areas above all else: viewer investment, and character...
