Well met!

My friend, Charley (He Who Owns All Heroscape), chas to you, asked me yesterday how he could start a blog on this site. I did not know myself, so I looked it up for him. Then I got to thinking . . .

At only $15, becoming a Site Supporter is a great deal. (How come my name isn't blue yet, huh?) Now, instead of posting my thoughts in the Forum, and having them generally ignored, and any threads I might start sinking out of sight faster than [insert appropriate stock market metaphor here], I can post them here for posterity.

Speaking of posts: Only after I accessed the "Post to your Blog" screen did I notice that I had posted 100 times. Coincidence? Omen? I would like, at this time, to thank (and I do) the creators and maintainers of this site, acknowledge the kindness of the community at large, and express my great respect for you all. That having been said . . .

Why pseudonyms? Are you afraid that someone you know outside the Heroscape community will discover your dirty little secret? Just asking.

David

Well, the pseudonyms (and I'm assuming you mean the user names) are really for protection. We give people are locations, and we even make some friendships online here.

Location+children+friendly old dudes knowing children's names=predator

Now, this is a really great community with really no predators, but it is a precausion. Not to mention that when people see "Enter Username" they don't think "Oh, let me put my real name here" because on every other site you put down an alias using numbers and letters.

*Congratulations* on establishing your MOST EXCELLENT blog! However, what makes you think we can't ignore a Blog as easily as a Forum Post? (Yuk Yuk...)

But seriously, anyone else in the New York City area should let us know you're around. There are at least four of us adults playing games here on a semi regular basis.

Chas, I'm in northern NJ so I'm pretty involved in the New york (state) tournament scene. Pretty much every few months a new tournament is set up in either Albany, Poughkeepsie, Rhode Island, UCon, or Boston. Some of them are quite a drive, but the tournaments are great. If your willing to take a trip, I would highly recommend going to an event up there.

Check the events section for upcoming tournaments. You might have to go to the second page to find one.

You could also check the NESA site (link in Onacara's sig (if you can't find that, you must not be in the forums )) for their upcoming events. Oh my god...I just advertised for NESA!

You should definitely come out to some of the NESA events. The two in the immediate future are Battle at the Border II this Saturday in Rhode Island and Beantown Beatdown V south of Boston.

Kolakowski...I know that travel has been an issue for you to get out to our events, but I believe the guys out in Long Island will be hosting another Islandscape this summer.
