WARRIORS OF ELSWIND FOREST
The Warriors of Elswind Forest booster brings you Union soldiers for Jandar. Einar adds to his Gladiators, with the addition of the Gladiatrix. The ranks of Valkrill's undead swell with the arrival of the Tomb Skeleton Archers.
20TH MAINE VOLUNTEERS
Jandar again turns to America's history, this time to the Civil War, finding the bold and loyal Volunteer soldiers from Maine. Although they disappeared in Gettysburg, they battle on in Valhalla, continuing to fight on resolutely, never abandoning their position.

The figures used for this unit are Scenearama figures from the American Civil War Scene Setters set.
TOMB SKELETON ARCHERS
The clacking of bones signals the presence of animated skeletons deep in the crypt. But far before they come into view, deadly shafts rain down from Valkrill's newest minions: the Tomb Skeletons are now backed up by a shambling horde of Tomb Skeleton Archers.

One of the figures used is the Skeletal Archer from the Legendary Encounters set of Reaper Miniatures.
The second figure used is a D&D Miniatures figure from the Angelfire set. Its model name and number are #50 Skeletal Archer
ACHILLEAN GLADIATRIX
Gladiators were symbols of the violence and power of ancient cultures. Among the many men that dominated the Colosseum, a few females managed to break through. Armed with a shield and a long javelin, they were versatile in combat, able to throw their spear long distances or stab powerfully at close range.
PDF File
The figure used for this unit is a Amazon, Amazon Bana-Mighdall, or Phillipus figure from the Heroclix the Brave and the Bold.
-------------------------------------------
This week's glyph is the Glyph of Lorja Ivor. It is a weaker version of the Classic Ivor.
-------------------------------------------
Next week, Utgar and Vydar get a couple of gun-toting outlaws. Utgar also recruits a tech-savy dwarf, and Vydar gets a Agent from Arctorus.

Fun stuff!
I am curious as to the reason for the wording for the 20th Maine's Hold Ground? Don't most people use 1 card for commons? I am sure there is a good reason. Just curious. |

The wording of special powers (as well as the rules) allow for the use of multiple cards for the same common squad. This is just covering that case. See Dund for an example.

I'm likin' these guys. The Gladiator Common is interesting to say the least. I wonder how that will change Gladiator armies?
The Glyph is just an Ivor balance patch. Not unique, but far more likely to see use at tourneys. ~TAF |

Easily the pack I was most excited for and you guys really delivered. The 20th Maine is perfect, great theme for these guys in particular. Tomb Skeleton Archers are a real force to be reckoned with and pair well with the vanilla Tombies.
The Gladiatrix are a lot more interesting than I expected; love the interplay between ranged and melee options. Should definitely be a new ballpark for Gladiator armies. |

Lots more cool stuff. Thanks! I was a bit surprised the Tomb Skeleton Archers didn't synergize with the Tomb Skeletons, even if it was just there movement bonding allowing the option of moving Archers or regular Skeletons.

I want to take the 20th Maine and put them on a hill with RotV Raelin. They seem kind of like better Zettian Guards in the right setup.
Unless Zelrig shows up. |

Fun release everyone. But I'm going to nit pick a bit. Don't know who is doing the art on these but the leading on the SAs is way too tight, making the text difficult to read. It looks like it's set solid. If you look at official cards the leading is usually 1 or 2 points greater than the point size of the text. Don't know if you want to adjust but legibility is just as important as grammar.

YAY! I have been waiting to complete my Harryhausen Army, and really like how the TSAs came out.
A question on the 20th -- shouldn't it be "on all cards" rather than "on any card"? I know the intent, but it seems possible to interpret the wording such that a churlish player could spread OMs across multiple cards and claim that if "any card" had 1 unrevealed OM they all get the bonus. Unless I am mis-reading it. Perhaps address in FAQ? |

@IshMEL
, that is how I interpret it. You can have an"x" on one card and a 1, 2 & 3 on another and all volunteers get the defense boost.

I think "only one... on any" covers it will enough.

Good stuff!
I agree that the wording on Hold Ground is somewhat ambiguous about multiple cards. The "any" can be interpreted multiple ways. |

Think about Dwarf Strategic Bonding. "If you did not take a turn with any Dwarf Hero you control..." doesn't mean "Oh, look I didn't take a turn with Migol because I took it with Mogrimm!" Think of "any ____" as meaning "any of the ___s".
